Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band When Earth Awakes from USA, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Jon: It was planned out. We wanted to pick a name that would represent what our project is all about. From day one, our first and foremost goal has always been to inspire people to follow their hearts desire. Sometimes for fear of failure, or even success, we find ourselves taking the "easy" way out or the most "secure" option and we end-up missing out on what our true potentiality is. We want to be a symbol of hope for people to "wake up" and tap into who they are capable of being.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

David: When I was in high school I some friends showed me Atreyu, Zao, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, and a few others. From then on I was hooked.

Jon: I think it is all about the emotion. Music can channel energy on so many levels and sometimes what you have to say is just SO potent and can have so much depth behind it that the only way to get your message across is to scream it at the top of your lungs. I feel that metal is the best vessel for achieving that sort of emotion. You have so much room to control the environment. Not only can you be mellow and full of melody, but it can crank up to "11" and come right out in front of your face with deep emotional impact.

Brad: I remember listening to a song called "Forever" by As I Lay Dying when I was about 12 or 13. From then on, it’s always been metal for me.

Bobby: I have a lot of intensity in me, I can be a little batshit, and this style of music seems to be the most therapeutic way of getting all that energy and emotion out of me.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

David: No, Jon and Bobby met on Craigslist searching for other musicians and instantly connected. A year or so later they found me on Craigslist looking for a new project. I knew Brad from another band we had been in before; I brought him on when the 3 of us were searching for a bassist.

Jon: Yeah, Craigslist is a hell of a place, basically where we all found each other.

4. Each band member favorite band?

David: Strangely enough, 311. In terms of metal though I would say August Burns Red and The Color Morale.

Jon: I know it sounds cliché, but that is just impossible for me to answer. I grew up playing classic music on trumpet in band and went on to study jazz in college. Metal actually came into my life much, much later so I have such a wide variety of music that I like to listen to. I'll say that my favorite CD currently is Sempiternal by Bring Me The Horizon.

Brad: Some of my favorite groups in my genre would have to be "August Burns Red", "Killswitch Engage", and "As I Lay Dying"; those bands take me back to my roots when I first started playing.

Bobby: I really, genuinely cannot think of who my favorite band is. Waffles.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

David: for lyrical inspiration I turn to what’s currently going on in my life, or current social issues. Lately I’ve found inspiration in self reflection. Our song “Step Aside” is about calling myself out. It was initially inspired by some people who didn’t treat me so well, but ultimately became a self-reflection.

Jon: Life and all that experiences that come from it. The joy, the triumph, the tragedy, heartbreak, etc. You get the emotions that bottle up to the point of explosion and getting them out on to paper is just such a release of energy and then you just hope that your fans will connect with what you had to say as much as you do.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was the PinUp productions Winter Bash at San Jose’s brand new venue RockBar Theater. It was with Lionheart, Assuming We Survive, and a bunch of other Bay Area bands.

7. Where would you like to act?

There are so many amazing venues all over the world; it’s hard to nail it down to one. But in terms of what’s near us, we’d have to say The Regency Ballroom and Shoreline Amphitheater.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

David: That’s a pretty long list for this one, but we’ll narrow it down to just a few: The Color Morale, For Today, August Burns Red, A Day To Remember, Chiodos, The Ghost Inside, Atreyu, Bring Me The Horizon, Lamb of God, Architects, Every Time I Die, etc.

Brad: I would love to do a feature with N’Sync or Backstreet Boys. That would be badass.

9. Whom not?

David: I don’t know that we have any bands we want to avoid playing with. I mean, sure, it’d be weird if we were on a bill with a band like Rebolution or Reel Big Fish; but I’m sure we’d find a way to get the crowd into it.

Bobby: I wouldn't discriminate! I think a collab with any artist who's wildly different than us would be a blast and produce some really interesting stuff.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

David: I don’t know that I’d call it stage fright, but I have gotten anxiety before a show on occasion. The lights change all that once you’re out there.

Jon: Only every time I'm on stage! The key is to not get judgmental of it. When you try and fight it or resist it; it only makes the challenge greater. You actually can harness and use it for real raw emotion. It lets people know that you're not just some robot on stage and that you actually feel the way that everyone else is capable of feeling. For me, It's a reminder that I'm alive and what is happening is real. I wouldn't want to get rid of it, personally.

Brad: I’ve never really had stage fright.

Bobby: I've never really had stage fright; I've always been drawn to performing in front of people. But for people who have it, I think if you really want to do this (or any type of performing) you'll take the plunge and go for it even if it scares the hell out of you. It's going to be terrifying at first but it only gets easier with experience. I think the biggest part of it is fear of being judged. You can't escape that. The trick is to embrace it. You're a lot braver for being on stage than those people in the audience are for sitting there criticizing you. They're nobodies. You're a badass. That's why they're talking trash. I like waffles.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

David: I’ve been most inspired by Underoath, The Color Morale, and August Burns Red, Bring Me The Horizon to name a few.

Jon: Too many to list. I will say that the most inspiration comes from the message of the band. The depth and sincerity. It's not just about the quality of music… I have to connect with what they are trying to say.

Brad: The Beatles have definitely been one of my biggest inspirations growing up.

Bobby: A lot of the 90's Seattle bands are what really got me into playing music as a kid, mostly Soundgarden and Alice In Chains. Nowadays I find inspiration in pretty much anything. Waffles.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

David: I’ve been asked to sign a prosthetic arm.

Brad: I have been asked by a fan if I could sign her Chihuahua.

Bobby: I really, just, shouldn't answer this question. Actually, I don’t really like waffles.

13. What do you think of your fans?

David: Our fans are awesome. A lot of them keep in contact with us so it’s tough to even refer to them as fans; they’re more like family to us. For example there’s Dave (a.k.a. Warrior Dave) in SoCal who paints his face up for our shows. He even took a train 400 miles to see us at our first hometown headlining show. Call that die-hard fandom if you want, we call it family.

Jon: Few, but mighty! We are still a new project and our name hasn't circulated as much as we would hope yet, but for the people that come support us and listen to our music; they are just awesome. They have really encouraging things to say and the remind us daily why we are doing what we are doing. Sometimes its easy to lose sight of what you're set out to do through times of struggle, but the fans are a constant reminder of why we need to continue!

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it’s pretty awesome how you guys feature big name stuff AND the small fries like us. We even see our boys from Chugcore on there!

15. Something to add?

David: We will be going into the studio for our 3rd EP this year and hopefully hitting the road in support of it. Keep an eye on your local venues for us!

Bobby: I am cats.
