Embracing Sickness - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Metalcore band Embracing Sickness from Denmark, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Well basically, when the name was decided we were still a young band, at the time only consisting og Tobias (guitar) Andy (drums) and our former basplayer Christian. At the time the genre was alot heavier, and going for a more brutal vibe - and therefore we needed a band name that reflected the musical expression of evil - and thus we ended up with Embracing Sickness. It wasn't really planned, it kinda just ended up like that.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
All of us have been listening to punk and metal almost all of our lives. It was, as musicians, a natural road to go down, when it came to playing in bands. It is a genre of raw, unfiltered energetic emotion that just feels plain good to play. You might call it a passion.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Some of us did. Three of us (Tue, Andy, Villads) origins from the same part of suburban Copenhagen (DK) and knew eachother from the musical scene and relations in that area. Andy, Tobias and our former basplayer met at a one-year boardingschool where the whole project started. After Andy returned home Villads and Tue was sucked into the project and has remained that way since.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Tobias - Protest the Hero
Tue - Protest the Hero and Lamb of God (both strong in vocal frontmen)
Villads - Lamb of God or Architects
Andy - Architects (but there’s new bands just waiting to be favorites)
Malthe - Volumes
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Lyrically I am inspired by everything and everyone around me. My progress in life and the hardships and bumps in the road that this progress might bring with it has always been something that has drawn my attention. Love is always good a good subject for both the good and the bad as well. - Tue (vocals)
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was at a small venue called UnderWerket in Valby, Copenhagen with the band Torment and our good friends Cartographs
7. Where would you like to act?
Everywhere
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Everyone
9. Whom not?
The Danish band Scortum. We are so done F***ING with those guys.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Not really in any excessive way. But of course we get nervous before shows. Most people do - that means you have got something personally invested in doing what you do, and that is a good thing. Don't take being nervous as a bad thing - use it!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Riffwise a guitarist such as Mark Holcomb from the band Haunted Shores have been a huge inspiration when it comes to the guitar parts. Randy Blythe have always been an inspiration vocally and lyrically as well. There are various pop and folk artists from the modern scene, that could be worth mentioning when it comes to influences as well.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
There has yet to be anything REALLY out of the ordinary actually, besides your everyday run-of-the-mill signing of breasts and buttcheeks.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are awesome. We are always met with enthusiasm before and after shows, which is a huge motivator for all of us, both in the bandpractice and on stage.
14. What do you think of our site?
It's great what you are doing. It's important to support the scene and show off people, trying hard to make good music. Keep it up.
15. Something to add?
Stay tuned for our next upcoming single - it's going to be pretty god damn awesome. And of course a special thanks to Chris Kreutzfeldt, Kristoffer Alm, Mads Salbæk and Nikolaj Osorio for their invaluable help with the project
