High Bridge - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metal/Djent/Hardcore band High Bridge from Italy, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It's basically a literary translation of the name of the location where we first started to rehearsal. We probably lacked of creativity at the time, but we kind of liked the way it sounds.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We didn't, we did something completely different when we started. Let's say that our music evolved while we grew up, and we never stop developing and experimenting different ways to express ourselves.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Only two of us knew each other and they first decided to try to play something together. When the others joined (apart from our drummer, who's been with us since the very beginning) we had already got to know them of course, but that happened a few years later.
4. Each band member favourite band?
None of us really has one favourite band. We listen to many different artists who play very different genres. However here's some of our favourite bands: La Dispute, The Dear Hunter, Cloudkicker (Elia), Tool, Cynic, Jamiroquai (Andrea), The Fall of Troy, LaQuiete, Amesoerus (Yari), Opeth, Arcade Fire, Tesseract (Roberto), Gorguts, Mr Bungle, Invocator (Giorgio).
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Nothing in particular, actually. We build our songs around the idea of creating something meaningful. Sometimes we like using mathematical patterns to create riffs, such as the Fibonacci sequence, or even the morse code, which we use to 'translate' a word or sentence into a riff or breakdown.
6. Where was your last gig?
We played on February 13th here in Vicenza, at "e20 underground", where we exclusively gave a preview of our videoclip, "Luce".
7. Where would you like to act?
We simply love playing live, so that's what matters most to us. However, we're surely looking forward to an opportunity to bring or music as far away from home as possibile. Playing abroad would be awesome!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Well, needless to say, a feature with some of our music 'heroes' such as The Contorsionits, Architects and Apostate would be the dream.
9. Whom not?
No one in particular.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Not really, our singer gets a bit anxious before getting on stage but everything disappears when we start playing. The only tip we feel like giving is: never let any kind of pressure ruin your show, being it the audience or someone else. Just have fun, that's the point after all!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
We wouldn't really be able to make a list, it's possibile that sometimes we don't even realize that a riff or song is being composed under a particular influence.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing too weird, actually: once, during a gig, we were asked to play the same song six times over and over again ("You Suffer" by Napalm Death).
13. What do you think of your fans?
They're great and we love them of course, who wouldn't love their fans?
14. What do you think of our site?
It's so cool! We all think it's great that so many bands can get the opportunity of making themselves visible, it's really something meaningful.
