Interviews: Nu-Nation
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Modern Nu-Metal/Hardcore band Nu-Nation from Russia, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
There were a lot of variants, but no one was really good. And once our drummer called me and asked if I like 'NU-NATION'. The name just came to him, and everyone of us was really satisfied with it.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
In the beginning we just wanted to play something groovy, like Soulfly or Sepultura. But then we decided to add some more elements of various music styles.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, I played with our first drummer during 5 years in black metal band Tophet. He left the band a couple of years ago, so I called to my old friend Kisych and asked him to join NU-NATION. As for bassplayer, he was my old friend as well (we played together in Tophet too, btw), our novadays singer played in the band we shared stage with 4 years ago. So the only really new guy for us was our second guitarplayer, when he joined the band.
4. Each band member favourite band?
We made top-3 of each of us.
Arthur (vocals): Korn, Ill Nino, Attila
Alexander (guitars): Iron Maiden, Korn, Emperor Denis (guitars): Children Of Bodom, Rage,
Marduk Dmitri (bass): Slayer, Dark Funeral, Guns'n'Roses
Alexei (drums): Placebo, Portishead, Dying Fetus.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Everything that goes around me. But the main is music that I listen ;)
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last one was in Tallinn, Estonia
7. Where would you like to act?
Everywhere! As for me, I have a dream to have a LatinAmerican tour.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I'd like to play with Korn and show them my respect to their band. It would be a honor for me.
9. Whom not?
We played with Soulfly and I have to say that I don't want to have the same experience one more time. We were kicked out of a dressing room and spend all the time in warehouse, cause Max Cavalera didn't want to see anybody on backstage. And after their show only their drummer came out to us and we had a conversation for a couple of minutes. Other musicians from Soulfly left the club just after their show.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Interesting question:) I don't really remember, but sometimes I have a such feeling. Just before a show. But as the show starts, and I am starting to play it dissappears.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I think old hard rock bands like KISS, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, I listened to them when I was a child, my parents liked this kind of music, and I have to thank them for it. Then it was Iron Maiden. I should also name black metal bands like Dark Funeral, Burzum -- I listened this kind of music when started to grow up as a guitarist.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
To play 'Sektor Gaza' on a stage :D hahaha, it's Russian-rock band, very shitty but super-popular in Russia.
13. What do you think of your fans?
I think that they are those for whom we are playing. We appreciate to everyone of our fans for supporting us! We won't exist without them.
14. What do you think of our site?
I like it! You're helping bands to reach new audience, it's fantastic, really!
15. Something to add?
I just suggest everyone to like and support the scene, the bands you listen. And to love animals :) Make peace, not war!
