THEBUCKLE - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Heavy Rock band THEBUCKLE from Italy, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We spent more time searching for a band-name rather than composing the first songs!!! We wanted a short name – we believe in short names! – and somehow we wanted something to remind the bands of the sixties… Then we find TheBuckle and we thought it was perfect, but we like to write it as one word. We love it!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We love to say we play a mix of hard rock, stoner, post-punk and hardcore. All supported by a good dose of experimentalism. The result is a fiery and pounding music, crossed by a dark and gloomy atmospheres and unhealthy, obtundent, memorable melodies. That’s the music we like, and that’s why play it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

TheBuckle is a new project, but me and Maxim were the “men behind” a band named Unwelcome, it was a well known band, we formed in 1994, we played all over our country for years and released an album titled “Independent Worm Songs” in 2002 which had a quite good success. Then we formed a band named Kessler and we released an album titled “Un altro giorno d’amore” in 2006. Then I did a solo-project named Gr3ta and I released two albums titled “Please Kill Me” in 2008 and “Gr3ta” in 2010. So the answer is YES, we knew each other before.

4. Each band member favourite band?

We really love so many bands, and it’s really hard to choose. I personally love The Beatles, The Clash, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, The Stooges, Refused and many others. Maxim is more “heavy-oriented” then me: Metallica, Korn, Deftones, Rage Against The Machine, Kyuss…

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Well sometimes I hear, or see or read something that inspire me a riff or a melody, but usually we write our songs simply jamming during some rehearsals. But the golden rule for us is that if we work too much time on an idea… Then it’s not a good idea.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played in a small club, it was the release party for our new album and it’s been a real fun!

7. Where would you like to act?

We really would love to play our music everywhere there’s someone interested to us. We’d love to visit new countries… And we’re working to do it as soon as possible.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

John Lennon. Joe Strummer. Kurt Cobain. Unfortunately my heroes are all dead…

9. Whom not?

Well… I don’t give a fuck of musicians I dislike.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright is not the correct word, but honestly I ham a little scared everytime… I begin to think “and what if I forgot the words or the chords?” and stuff like that but then comes the adrenaline and… Everything turns to good. I don’t have any tips… Just be yourself and prepare to have fun. It’s only rock n roll!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We play together from about twenty years, so the primary influence is ourselves! We really don’t know… We listened to so much music, so many bands, and anything – from Blues to Electronic – has find a way into our record. Wen you have so many influences you really don’t have a single one…that’s when you find your style.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Can’t remember something real weird… We always have some fun, even in the weirdest situation. Don’t be shy… Here we are now. Entertain us!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We never thought them as fans: they’re friends. They’re brothers. Without them we would be nothing. Expecially during live shows is really great to meet people and talk with them, it’s the best part of being in tour with a band. Except being on stage and play as loud as hell.

14. What do you think of our site?

Stunning. Sharp. You did a good job men.

15. Something to add?
