Conduit - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Hardcore band Conduit from UK, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We want people to have an experience when they see us live, we wear our hearts on our sleeves and want people to really catch what we are about. Conduit means to be a carrier and we feel like what we have to say is valuable. When it came to choosing the name we introduced a few of them as if were playing a show, and one of the guys came out with 'This is Conduit', and that was that.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We don't try to force anything musically, someone will come up with an idea, bring it to the table and we all start jamming it. If we dig it then we keep it and if we don't, then into the musical bin it goes! We just love the energy and passion this genre brings!
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Dave and Ian knew each other since school days really, Steve worked with Ian then joined us on guitar and finally Dave Roberts jumped in on the kit after original drummer Dan left the band. Steve actually came to see us at a show once, which is where I met him. We were in need of a second guitarist and before you know he's turning up at practices adding a new feel to the songs. We all knew Dave R through mutual friends and as soon as we heard him behind the kit we knew it was right.
I think you know you have dedicated members when you come back to next weeks practice and they have smashed whatever they were learning, it just sucks when some one isn't pulling weight.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Dave - Underoath
Steve - Thrice
Ian - Underoath
Dave R - Fightstar
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We write about our experiences, beliefs and what affects us through life, it’s the main way to connect with someone and give them something they can relate too. But our main message is hope and grace.
6. Where was your last gig?
Kasbah (Coventry) w/ Creeper and Wars - check both these bands out, they are such nice guys and sound huge live.
7. Where would you like to act?
We don't want to limit what can happen with the band, we all have dreams of where we would like to go. We really want to head out to Europe and beyond, hit up some bigger UK festivals too (Download, Reading & Leeds, Hit the Deck, Hevy Fest etc).
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Architects would be awesome, Underoath if they ever did a comeback tour, Being As An Ocean, the list is HUGE so just to name a few!
9. Whom not?
Were pretty open to playing with anyone.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
When the band first begun, my knees would be shaking and I would forget words but the more the play and the more competent you get playing honing your craft the more confident you become.
Yah, practice, practice and guess what? More Practice! I hate that word, but it’s a necessity to achieving goals. Oh yeah and always be yourself.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Underoath & Rise Against have had a massive influence on us and we have been listening to these guys since our early days.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
For an autograph actually, it’s just a bit foreign to me, I guess for bigger bands it’s no big deal, but it’s a bit weird some kid asking for your autograph. Fortunately we have never been asked if someone can have a lock of our hair or anything, that's just a tad weird.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We are so thankful for anyone who supports us, it's the fans who make it possible for bands to excel and we appreciate everyone who has ever supported us in anyway.
14. What do you think of our site?
Looks like a great place for people to check out some new and established bands!
15. Something to add ?
June 1st 2015, LIFE ON REPEAT, get pumped.
