Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band Lakes And Snadders from Malaysia, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

We had a lot of names before. We started with Diamond for Dayana, Dayana is actually one of our very understanding female friend's name. Our 2nd name is Asthalin, but there's another band using it and It's official though. After that we changed to Echidna which mean is "Dahlia" or Tulips by terms of full of joy. We came out with our final name and everybody's agreed, Lakes & Snadders based on the idea of Snakes & Ladders board game. We swapped the letters because of we despise the idea of living with Snakes & Ladders way of life. Get to the higher level by our own stepping on the ladders and be pulled under easily by the SNAKES (misfortune). Once again, our name based on the idea of Snakes & Ladders.

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

We discovered the world of Metalcore since the year of 2008. Since then we were attached within it and we felt so comfortably playing based on this genre because of the Metalcore's attitude itself which building our hopes and exactly the melody and riffing are so catchy. We're focusing on Metalcore but we also play other genre. The identity and the ideology of Metalcore gave not just us but to the listeners an impact. Good question.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

The band started with a two guys, Emir (our former guitarist) and Fazi (our regular drummer). You can read our band history on our band profile. We had a same mind, same musical taste and same thought, That's how we started to known each other. Again, a very good question.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Basically, our favourite band are almost the same but individually favourite are never be the same like:

- Our drummer, Fazi, 22, picked the most influenced Progressive Metal band, Dream Theater as his favourite band. He's the biggest fan of DT. He also listening to Miss May I, Galneryus (Japan Power Metal band) and solo artist, King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

- Our Bassist, Khalaf, 22, inspired by the band In Hearts Wake based on their attitudes and identity til he himself changed the way he dressed. He also liked Miss May I.

- Our Guitarist, Zurin, 20, admired the first Metalcore band he ever listened to, The Devil Wears Prada. He really onto mainstream band like My Chemical Romance, Blink 182 and many more.

- Our another guitarist, Syamil, 20, tend to Secret & Whisper by the melody and lyrically. Other than that, he also like Saosin, Memphis May Fire and our local band, Tres Empre.

- Our Vocalist/Screamer, Akhil, 21, influenced by Blessthefall. Same as Zurin, Blessthefall are the first band he ever heard of. Blessthefall changed the way he think and act throughout the society. It's kinda way of life to him.

5. Who or what inspires you to write the songs?

Writing a lyrics is quite challenging to us. Technically, our influences are big, huge and astonishing. We wrote based on humanity, religious and the history. Basically, we were trying to observe the problematic of the world and we tried to enlightened up and elaborated more. Some religious writings are very helpful in order to applied our thought about the world.  

6.Where was your last gig?

Our very last performance is at Gegar Sembilan Vol. II, Paroi, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Quite supportive and happening crowd.

7. Where would you like to act? 

We are aiming for the highest stage of Malaysian Metal Scene Festivals, Rock The World and of course we would like to perform overseas, all around Asia and Europe. May god ease our journey to get there.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would like to collaborate with our local band vocalist. Ash from the band Massacre Conspiracy MY or Eddie Edzuan from Tres Empre MY for our next projects. We want to feature Aaron Matt from Betraying The Martyrs UK or Matty Mullen from Memphis May Fire if we be given the opportunity to collaborate with them.

9. Whom not? 

Justin Bieber.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

We had a lot of shows apparently, stage fright is one of our bon appetite now. We do suffered a stage fright every single time we're on stage. Guess what? Our former vocalist did vomited after one of our show. A very exciting memory to remember, we laughed so hard back then. Our tips on stage fright, if you guys been attacking by it is think of your parents, ignore your fears and be fearless.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

The band that inspired us the most is Blessthefall, by musical, lyrical, theatrical and attitude. Fight with music and arts. We will make a different to the world of Metalcore we hope.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Yes, of course. Our fans once forced us to repeated our song live about 4 times. An encore 4 times just for only one song. It's quite crazy and mind blowing for us. It was like, ouh! That song again.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Our fans here in Malaysia is the most suppotive and open-minded person. Haters gonna hates but our fan is so perceptive and empathetic. They are all nice and had only one principle which is metal will unite the world. No matter who you are, as long as you are on this metal stream, they will fight for you. Thank you guys.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your sites is like a platform to our band. You make this sites to connecting people to people and connect people to information which is the most helping. This sites is an opportunity to our band and other band to rise and getting known to the world. Great job to you for making this sites, we appreciate it so much. Thank you.

Lakes And Snadders is a Malaysian Metalcore based band from Klang/Shah Alam,  Selangor Darul Ehsan. The band founded in late of 2008 by the two original members Emir  and Fazi. After quite lots of show and several line-up changes, the band went to hiatus. After graduated from school Emir and Fazi decided to re-formed the band with Elle later joined by Khalaf. Since then, Lakes And Snadders started a meteoric rise after a long hiatus. Initially in- re-formation in late of 2010 and several members had parted ways during the early days.The band has been reformed back in September of 2010 with its 3 original members and a new bassist filling the missing gap. In December of 2010 the band released their very first demo songs called 'clarity arise' and followed by their first pre-mastered single called 'Now I

Claim Your Sun' in May of 2011.

The band is heavily influenced by religious and spiritual theme into their writings. Our music is not just a typical Metalcore, each members come from different music  varsities and influences and then blended in our sound, composition and writings (lyrics). In early of year 2012, Lakes And Snadders is filled up by Putra/Dirufied Ziddy (now he has a legitimate joint Daarchlea as a screamer) replacing Elle due to a matter that we can’t  literally speaking up. He brought the new light enlightened us all as a new writer to a band. 2013 early,

Putra had left the band to join Daarchlea and his place being replaced by now, our saturated screamer/vocalist, Akhil. Later join by Siv, our regular guitarist at this time because Emir had left the band to catch his dreams.Lakes And Snadders are now fix with 5 regular members. Through their passion and dedication, They mustered the idea to restore the band to the world and comeback with a new material, eargasm and more melodic also harmonize with your routine life long and never be forgotten.

In the year of restoration which is in late 2014, December, we for the very first time released our proper recorded single and it is official track debut to Lakes And Snadders it-self called “Fragment” to show to the world that we’re still alive and energetic to perform our best for.

The band consists of 5 teenage youngster who tries to deliver out the youth angst with a relentless blast to your ears. With oldest members is at 22 years old and the band are struggling to be apart from the others in the strain. With the coming of 2015 and a new members in the mess. The band are now armed with a  new mission, vision and perspective.
