A Promise To Burn - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band A Promise To Burn from USA, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

The band name actually came from an old song that I wrote. We had some names that really didn’t stick and then I was flipping through an old notebook with songs I wrote and came upon a song that I wrote called “A Promise to Burn” I presented the name to the band, everyone liked it and it stuck from there. 2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

I love this music, regardless of all the judgments of others.  (Mike)

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

When the band first formed it was with a different group. Heather, Zach and I all knew each other from mutual friends. Mike and Chad were also in a band together before we all knew each other. Our paths then crossed and the rest is history haha. (Jacob)

4. Each band member favourite band?  

• Jacob – Black Veil Brides

• Zach – Slipknot

• Heather –  Breaking Benjamin

• Mike – Memphis May Fire

• Chad - Volumes

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

I personally have been inspired by life in general. People go through things every day and they have stories to tell, and the lyrics that I write are my stories. (Jacob)

I want our music to make a difference in people’s lives. I want people to throw on A Promise to Burn when they're in a good mood, bad mood, depressed, or just in a hardcore mood. (Mike)

6. Where was your last gig?  

The last gig we played was a show with our friends from Tear Out The Heart in St. Louis. It was a sold out show and the atmosphere was awesome! (Jacob)

7. Where would you like to act?  

My dream is to play in Las Vegas because one of my dearest friend lives there and it would mean the world to me for her to get to see us perform and see how far we have come! But as a whole we would like to go anywhere and everywhere, NO LIMITS! (Heather)

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

I would personally love to feature Fronz from Attila on a track. Regardless of the hate he gets, I have endless amounts of respect for that dude. (Zach)  I'd love to feature with Memphis May Fire or have Matty feature on one of our track. (Mike)

9. Whom not?  

I feel like any artist could bring something special to any song if presented with an idea properly. I wouldn’t say I wouldn’t want to work with a specific person because everyone has ideas and everyone has unique talents. (Jacob)

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

I personally have dealt with stage fright, the way I came to beat it was by telling myself that I am up on stage so I am here to put on a show and everyone in the room is watching me do what I love to do. Performing helped me develop confidence in all aspects of my life! (Heather)

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Slipknot, Asking Alexandria, and Of Mice & Men have always been highly inspirational to me when it comes to music. (Zach)

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

Haha this question is awesome, I have had some weird requests but if I had to pin point one specific time I actually was freaked a bit was when we were just getting ready to go on stage and there was this woman who was probably late 20’s or early 30’s. She was super drunk haha while I was getting my wireless microphone set up she walks up to me and starts rubbing up and down my arm and then proceeds to tell me that if I get more tattoos I have to come find her cause it would be a good time haha It was funny and weird all at once, she actually got kicked out also for sitting on the stage cause she couldn’t stand up. Let’s just say that night was interesting to say the least haha (Jacob)

13. What do you think of your fans?  

I love our fans with all my heart! It means more than the world to me when a fan comes up to me and asks for an autograph or to tell me how much they enjoyed our set! Or even to just talk about whatever's on their mind. (Mike)

Our fans make me so happy, seeing the smile our music can bring to someone’s face is such a humbling thing for me. I never thought I would get to have a ticket to the greatest show on earth, yet here I am riding every ride and living the ultimate thrill! (Heather)

14. What do you think of our site?  

The site is awesome! I love how you give bands opportunities to be heard. (Jacob)

15. Something to add?  

First and foremost we all would like to thank you for the opportunity to be on your website! It is awesome to have the support of many different people. I would also like to throw out that we are going to continue writing new music so be on the lookout for that Cara guiñando un ojo The final thing I would like to relay is that we put our everything into what we do and we will never take the short route to success, we are going to work as hard as humanly possible to be where we want to be and then continue building from there.
