Carried Weight - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It was the title of our EP when we were under another name and we all liked it so we just decided to change our name to Carried Weight.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We all grew up listening to and playing heavy music and wanted to do our own twist to it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah. Some of us knew each other through middle school and some for just a couple of years.

4. Each band member favourite band?

All of us love these bands. Slipknot, linkin park, system of a down and Metallica.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Good music in general inspires me to write. Hearing a song that has a catchy part or something that's really creative makes me want to try to create something good too.

6. Where was your last gig?

At a backyard in Pomona.

7. Where would you like to act?

I'm assuming you meant play but we would love to play anywhere where people are interested in hearing us.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Anyone of our good friends. It's sick being able to collaborate with your friends and create something you never would've thought of by yourself.

9. Whom not?

Anyone who only cares about getting "big" and doesn't care about their music.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

When I first started doing vocals I was really nervous because all the attention is on you but you just have to be confident in your music and give it your all when you perform.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

So many bands/artists inspire us but personally my biggest influence is early slipknot. Their sound and who they are behind their music made me want to create my own version of expressing my hatred through music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Someone jokingly asked us to make nipple rings

13. What do you think of your fans?

We're grateful for anyone who appreciates what we do.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's dope. It's always cool seeing promotion company's that help out underground bands.

15. Something to add?

We have a lot of things planned and are really excited to release everything soon. This is just the beginning.
