Edalene - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore band Edalene from Australia, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We wanted to find a nice sounding name for what can be a pretty aggressive genre and Edalene seemed to fit.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I just love the emotion and intensity of melodic hardcore, it’s my favorite genre of music without a doubt.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I (Charlie) was really good friends with everyone in this band before it was started and everyone was connected to everyone else in one way or another.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Sora- Pianos Become The Teeth

Seib - Gun’s N’ Roses

Jonno- Tonight Alive

George- Deftones

Charlie- Deftones

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For me it’s listening to a great album or even a great song, if that hits the spot it makes me want to pick up a guitar and work on a song idea.

6. Where was your last gig?

We last played at Chatswood Youth Centre in Sydney

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play in a record store like beat disc in Parramatta Sydney.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are so many awesome Sydney bands its really hard to pick. We would love to play with this rad band Jacob from Wollongong who make amazing passionate catchy songs or Mowgil who are an awesome post-rock screamo band. We would also be stoked to get the chance to play with Dear

Seattle again as they put on a hell of a show and have so many great tunes.

9. Whom not?

We don’t have any band that we don’t particularly want to play with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Personally I’m always nervous before I go on stage but the nerves help get the blood flowing and after the first song I normally feel really good. I would say just relax and try to have fun.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Pianos Become The Teeth, Brand New, Merchant Ships, Old Gray, Deftones, Sunny Day Real Estate, Midwest Pen Pals and I Hate Myself

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird for me.

13. What do you think of your fans?

If somebody enjoys the music that we make it

If someone likes the music we make or says something to us about our songs it’s a great feeling because it show us that all the hours we spend making music and trying to be a band are worth it.

14. What do you think of our site?

Breathing the core is a great site. The fact that you promote all different types of music and give accessible links to different bands songs helps me find new music easily.
