Averah - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Christian Metalcore band Averah from USA, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We all wanted a band name that not only we could relate to, but that every person who hears it can relate to as well. In Hebrew, Avera translates to sins or transgressions, which is who we are, we are sinners just like everyone else, and we acknowledge that.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
This genre provides a variety of sub genres to partner with, along with a variety of venues to perform in. The scene in this genre also has some of the most genuine people we've ever met and thats so awesome.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
A few of the members have known each other for about 3-4 years, but both of our guitarists and our bassist were in a previous band together, A Sight To See, and they've known each other longer. But it feels like we've all known each other our entire lives, we really are one big family!
4. Each band member favorite band?
Patrick (Guitar) - Periphery, Animals As Leaders
Mikey (Bass) - Fit For a King, Silent Planet, and Chon
Moses (Guitar) - Periphery, A Feast For Kings, and Intervals
Arthur (Vocals) - Gideon, Volumes
Johnathan (Drums) - Issues, PVRIS, and Memphis May Fire
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our songs are all about what we've been through personally, or things we've overcome individually, the daily struggles in our lives that we know everyone else goes through. All written in a way to not exclude anyone and to give encouragement to those who listen to our music. We want to be a voice for our generation.
6. Where was your last gig?
Well in fact we are a very recent band, that joined early this year in February 2015, so we haven't even had our first show yet! But we do have some upcoming dates and our first show will be on June, 30 in Amarillo, TX at the Bomb Shelter. Fortunately we all have experience in our past and have all had shows with other bands and artists so we're very anxious and excited for our very first show as Averah!
7. Where would you like to act?
Since we're a Texas based group we'd love to hit every area when can in our home state, but any offers or opportunities anywhere else nationwide we would totally be down for!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Pretty much any of the bands that we named as our favorites. We are all fans of any music that is progressive and has intricate/technical music that's challenging. As far as a vocalist goes, anyone with an angelic voice that shares the same vision and message as we do!
9. Whom not?
Well we respect every artist that works his or her butt off to create their music and to making a living doing it, so we really wouldn't be too concerned with not sharing the stage with anyone. As long as everyone is having a good time, we're game! But if we had to choose someone, totally Justin Bieber haha.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
After years of touring and performing individually, we've all realized you're gonna get nervous no matter how big or small the show is. Even though its not necessarily stage fright all the time, we still get it. We believe the day you stop feeling that nervousness, is the day you should stop playing music. Because then its not exciting to you anymore. As far as tips go, just think about how exciting it'll be once you step on that stage and kill it. Theres no better feeling in the world than executing a live set and seeing the response from everyone in the room!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Any of the bands that are our favorites are big influences on us. But our biggest bands would have to be Periphery, Volumes, and Issues.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Fans literally always ask us if we know that our logo looks like "The Avengers" logo haha!
13. What do you think of your fans?
Man, honestly we wouldn't be here today without everyone who believes in what we do. That may be the cliche answer that every band has, but we truly stand behind that statement. All the love and support from every single person does more than you know. We are motivated, pushed to surpass our expectations, and strive for the absolute best for Averah because of the fans. Thank you guys for being so awesome and for making this band, your band!
14. What do you think of our site?
Dude, the site is dope. The publicity and opportunity you give every artist/band on here is insane. You give people the chance to not only come across some awesome music, but you also allow them to go deeper and get to know these groups on a more personal level past their music and thats totally awesome!
