Borderlands - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Progressive Metalcore band Borderlands from Portugal, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Well, we all live far away from each other, in the same country but in different places, so we thought that Borderlands would be a cool name! We completely forgot about the game, which is a little problem , because it's hard to find our pages and videos without writing Borderlands metal or something like that. Of course there are some people who discover us while searching for game videos, but not that much.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We've always been metal/hardcore guys so we wouldn't find ourselves playing something else. Of course we listen to a whole variety of musical genres but this is our thing!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Kiki: Yes, I've known our former vocalist for like 6 years, we were in the same school and had a band together. Then we met the two guitar players because we were all classmates in a Music Production School and later we met our bassist. A few months ago we parted ways with our former vocalist and met our new singer online!

4. Each band member favourite band?

We all have different tastes but if there's one band that everyone loves, it's Northlane!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Life itself, every artist & band we listen to, and maybe some joints in the middle of the process, hehe.

6. Where was your last gig?

Resurrection Fest Band Contest at Sala We Rock (Madrid).

7. Where would you like to act?

In every single country that supports our genre! We certainly would like to tour the US and act in a lot of big festivals such as Download, Vans Warped Tour, etc. We'll be playing this year's edition of Resurrection Fest which is a huge step forward!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Dan Watson. Dude kills it every time!

9. Whom not?

Hmmm... Justin Bieber?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

In a way or another, we think everyone suffers from stage fright. Our tip is to focus on giving the crowd the best time they've ever had and then they will start to reply. After seeing everyone enjoying your music, there is no stage fright that can stop you!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Northlane, Texas In July, Elitist, Erra and many other great bands!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Fans don't usually ask us for weird things, they really don't ask for anything at all haha, maybe some sticks, picks, setlists with our signatures, the usual.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

They're very supportive and we really love them. As everybody knows, musicians are nothing without the fans support, we are the thankful ones!

14. What do you think of our site?

It is a great iniciative and certainly helps a lot of bands out there that are trying to make their work visible to the world! The website itself, It's well organized, but we think it should have more colors!  The white background It's just too empty.
