Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Hardcore band Cancel The Sky from Switzerland, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

At the point of putting a band together, we were also searching for a band name. At this time, our drummer had been travelling malaysia. to cut a long story short, it was a quote of a movie shown in malaysia with english subtitles.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We grew up in a country full of prosperity. But there is also a lot of effort recommended in our schools/jobs. We think, it turned out this way because we need a balance in our lives. we were always fascinated by fast, heavy and raw music and the difficulty of putting melody in or between such parts, so it seemed like a logical step to do it so. Furthermore, we witnessed some of the best live shows and wanted to be a part of this small, but fine scene here in switzerland.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

That's a interesting point. We knew each other more or less, but we have really become friends through music. It's also kinda untypical that we all grew up in a small village with 3500 inhabitants.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Remo (voc): Have Heart, Every Time I Die, At The Drive In, Blacklisted, Converge, Gallows, Killing the Dream, Misery Signals, Heaven Shall Burn, More Than Life, Ruiner, Rage Against the Maschine

Flurin (g): Verse, Have Heart, Modern Life Is War, Gallows, Comeback Kid, Blacklisted, ....
Yvo (g): Machine Head, Unearth, Thrice, From Autumn To Ashes, The Cold Harbour, Midnight Souls, Sylosis, Architects, Modern Live Is War, Defeater and others....
Dario (b): The Ghost Inside, Every Time I Die, After The Burial, Dropkick Murphys, Defeater, Slipknot and many more..

If (dr): La Dispute, Defeater, System of a down, Modern Life is War, Alexisonfire, Stray From The Path, Architects, At the drive in, Thrice, Blackhole, Final Fight, Boysetsfire, Comeback Kid, and many more...

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It's hard to speak for everyone in the band, it's very different. Of course we would like to sound a bit similar to the bands shown as above, because some of them are part of our lives since we started listening to music like we do now. On the other hand, sometimes it's not a song or a single part wich inspires us, instead of it it's the actual mood or how someone feels at the moment a song is being written, like the classical love and hate thing.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in our hometown, but we haven't played many shows since we recorded our fist first full length. we're currently planning a tour through czech republic, slovakia and germany in autumn.

7. Where would you like to act?

The question should be: "Where do you not like to act?". We do not prefer or avoid particular venues. We would play at a birthday party in front of 10 people or at a festival with thousand+ people. I just can assure, that we would never play in front of nazis!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Remo: Production wise: i would love to record at the GodCity Studios with Kurt Ballou. he puts the raw rock'n'roll of a band into a tight, defined mix. I never heard that before.
Song wise: We really enjoy that some friends of us did some guest parts for the new album.

9. Whom not?

Like Justin B. says: NEVER SAY NEVER! (to anybody)

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Our bassist has had stage fright in the beginning. According to him, taking a shit before the show could help. But that was a while ago. It's absolutely necessary to feel a little nervous. The best tip for beginners is to be well-prepared. Before the shows, we practice and make a lot of fun while playing (e.g. playing some parts a little different to confuse the others), so you're not surprised on stage if there is a mistake. It's important to not let the people know there was a mistake, nobody knows your songs until you recorded them!

An other opinion in our band is: instead of taking a shit before, give a shit on what could happen during the show. Mistakes, not working guitars, already fucking up the intro or others. Don't be affraid of what the crowd would think if something happens. They don't judge you if you can laugh about incidents and keep going at your best.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Many of the bands in question 4. We try to give space to every influence, whether it is a live show or as recorded music. In our opinion, that makes our sound very diversified. we all get older and change the taste for music constantly. the range of influence is getting bigger and wider.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Fans? Do we have fans? To be honest: our fans and supporters are really well-behaved, there was actually nothing special – luckily and sadly at the same time.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We're just grateful for everyone showing up at our shows and make every show to an unique experience. We don't earn any money with what we love so passionately, but sharing something fulfilling makes us having a good time. We're really searching the link to all in front of the stage and like to get to know new people. So, that's one of the big benefits playing in a band. We don't care if someone is a hardcore kid, a metalhead, punk or hip hopper, if they want to have a good time with us, everyone is very welcomed! it sounds cheesy, but we wouldn't call these people fans. We would call them friends. the scene is so small so you know most of them by sight. We are not a big band. there are no gaps, no big backstages and no groupies haha.

14. What do you think of our site?

Honestly, we haven't known your site before you guys postet our music and tagged us on Facebook  It's really refreshing to see that people like you are interested in new music and also promote small bands like us. Breathing The Core is a site, we will visit a lot in future to get to know new cool bands and stay in touch with the scene. So, from the bottom of our hearts: Thank you, we really appreciate what you guys are doing!

15. Something to add?

A little bit love for everybody: It needs a lot more than just bands for keeping music alive. So thanks all the promoters, mixers, producers, barkeepers, photographers, beer companies and many more that put their effort with no return into it.

Stay tuned, we will release our first full length soon. If some of you needs a band for a children's birthday party or another show: hit us up! we love to play live.

Last but not least: regularly taking a bath in honey milk keeps the beard and skin smooth!

Yours sincerely
Cancel The Sky
