Daylight - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Pop Punk band Daylight from Spain, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We started the band in 2004. Back then, we were just 4 kids who wanted to do something different after school. When looking for a name, we came across terrible ones but Daylight sounded cool. Two easy words that together had a positive meaning for the kind of music we wanted to play.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
It’s not like we decided to play any genre. If you listen to our last album “One More Fight”, Daylight is a band not easy to tag. We have songs that remind of early New Found Glory, other which may remind of a Simple Plan anthem or an up-tempo Rise Against song. We really try to be transversal, and collect different audiences that are not really far from each other.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Olek, and me were born together, did you notice we’re twin brothers? Haha The rest of the band joined when we started to do noise in the rehearsal room. After many years, our lead singer left the band in 2012, and in this last album the Burek Brothers take over the vocal control. A huge and positive change, that made the band grow and point higher.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Olek- Nofx, but now he’s in love with Taylor Swift.
Wojtek – Bon Jovi but lately I’m listening a lot to Against Me!
Victor - Disturbed
Albert- John Mayer
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I think the inspiration comes from all those things you’re able to do when you release an album, like playing shows, touring, and waking up in a different place everyday. But also from all the common things and situations you meet during your life when you’re not with the band.
6. Where was your last gig?
In the FC.Barcelona “Camp Nou” stadium. For all those non-soccer fans, it's one of the 5 biggest stadiums in the whole world. We had the chance to be a part of the musical performances during this year’s celebration. We’re big Barça supporters, so playing on the grass was a dream come true. Youtube. new music video out, we would love if you could Check it our on Youtube. . In the world we' started playing. hem.
7. Where would you like to act?
We like small clubs, with capacity of around 300/500 where we’re close to the audience and we can have direct contact with them.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We’d love to have a song with Mike Herrera or with the Madden Brothers.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
After so many shows we’ve done in our life, I don’t remember of having stage fright. I got to tell, that I love that feeling when you’re about to play a big show or festival, it reminds me of when we started.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Not easy to say. Each member contributes with his own influences, so we try to make a cool mix within all of them.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We signed a lot of things, from typical posters, CD’s to boobs and backs. Sometimes fans come with amazing printed pictures, and collages that they want us to ink. I really hate to sign cell phones, they are so expensive, and I don't feel cool with doing a terrible scribble on it.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We have the best fans in the world. They are our best advertisers; from mouth to mouth they help us become bigger day by day. Thanks to them we can continue making music today.
14. What do you think of our site?
Every website/magazine that supports music, and underground music should be admired. In the world we’re living, it’s really hard to endure with this kind of media. A big up for you!
15. Something to add?
We have a new music video out and we’d love if you could watch it on Youtube.
