Diamond Construct - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Metalcore/Djent band Diamond Construct from Australia, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We originally wanted to call ourselves "the construct" but it was alright taken, so we brainstormed some ideas and put Diamond in front of it and we liked it!
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We all grew up listening to and playing metal so it seemed natural to start a heavy band. It's a genre that has no boundaries. It allows us to be as confronting as we want but at the same time gives us room for dynamics. We play this genre because it best represents the emotions we feel.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yeah, we all knew each other from previous bands. Our guitarist Braden and our vocalist Kynan are brothers. They've kind of always collaborated in music. Some of us met in school.
4. Each band member favourite band?
We all have so many, but it's pretty safe to say we all love Architects and Meshuggah. Bands like Born of Osiris , Underoath, Northlane, the list goes on and on...
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Writing music has always seemed instinctive to us. We live and breathe it. Our brains can't go 5 minutes without thinking of music! But generally it's our environment and the people around us that inspire us. Also we draw inspiration from strange things like movies, and video games. Things that make us feel deeply.
6. Where was your last gig?
Wollongong, NSW. It was in an awesomely cramped venue called Rad Bar, and it was a sick show!
7. Where would you like to act?
Anywhere! We would love to tour the world and share our music. Although we've heard The European countries go crazy for our kind of music, so we'd love to experience that.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Architects maybe, they are a solid band
9. Whom not? Justin Bieber
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
The first few shows we did get nervous a little but not any more... It's the same as running a race – the more you run the more confidence you have. A tip for beginners would be to not over think being on stage. You're there to put on a show and the less confidence you have the more apparent that becomes to the audience.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
When we were younger, bands like Parkway Drive, I Killed The Prom Queen inspired us to play music. We heard stories of those bands toughing it out in cold vans and no pillows just so people could listen to their music. We want to be just like them! But these days we draw influences from so many different bands. Veil of Maya, The Contortionist, Architects, Periphery, Meshuggah, Karnivool, Structures. We are inspired by bands who pave the way in their own genres.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
A very friendly fan asked our guitarists to marry him because he liked the way he played guitar!
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are the reason we keep making music and playing live. Seeing people mosh in the pit is honestly the most valuable thing. It's so warm that people who don't know us will get into it for strangers.
14. What do you think of our site?
Its sick, good to see some people doing good things for up and coming bands!
