Freefall - Interview

freefall (1)

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Pop Punk band Freefall from UK, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It took a long time trying to choose a name because each time one of us came up with an idea, it never sounded or felt quite right. After what must have been a couple of months we were listening to Paramore and heard the word ‘Freefall’ in the song Turn It Off. We spoke about it and it just kind of stuck!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We never really chose a genre that we wanted to play, we all like such a wide range of music so we just got together and jammed one day and its just what came out. I guess thats why we don’t really fit into the genre completely.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Most of us met through college and we formed the band in our second year. However Ben (Drums) and Elin (Vocals) had been friends through out their teens and Ryan AKA ‘Drake’ (Guitar) and Callum (Guitar) had been childhood friends. Then Jack (bass) joined the band last after we all became close during our college years but we’re still learning stuff about each other that we didn’t know.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Elin (Vocals) - Paramore

Ryan (Guitar) - Blink 182

Callum (Guitar) - Parkway Drive

Jack (Bass) - All Time Low

Ben (Drums) - State Champs

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We get most inspired when we’re in the practice rooms with our instruments. When one of us comes up with an idea we all usually just get really excited and start jamming like mad.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was a hometown gig in Cheltenham at one of our favourite venues called 2 Pigs, it was our first gig back after being out on tour for the release of our EP, so it was really fun to come back and share our release with fans who have been with us from the start.

7. Where would you like to act?

We’d like to travel all over the world and play everywhere we can, I think Australia would be an amazing experience.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

To feature with Tonight Alive or State Champs would be insane!

9. Whom not?

Not really, we’re pretty open!.. Maybe not Pitbull though..

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We’ve never really suffered from stage fright, however when we started we were quite static and didn’t move a lot. Where as now we fuck shit up as much as possible! We’d advise just jumping into the deep end. Gig as much as possible to build your confidence and learn what you can do on stage! (Working on synced jumps or choreography helps too!)

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Marmozets, Tonight Alive, Angels And Airwaves.. And all the ones mentioned above, there are too many to list really!! The bands from our local scene really inspire us as well, bands like All Ears Avow, Elessar and Polary. We get to play with so many great bands from Cheltenham/Gloucestershire we’re very lucky!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

It involved tongues and bums.. Probably shouldn’t go into too much detail. Sorry to be so anal!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We’re lucky to be friends with our fans. We find other bands in our area are either a way heavier genre than us or a way lighter one. So it’s awesome that we get such a good reaction from a wide range of people with such different tastes in music. We really appreciate that people give us a chance so we always try to put on a great show and try to never disappoint!

14. What do you think of our site?

It great, only seen it recently but loving all the bands and features you have on it!
