New Tenants - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Hip-Hop/Crossover/Rapcore band New Tenants from Germany, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Marcus (vocals): “Well, the bandname 'New Tenants' actually derives from a danish shortfilm (2009).“

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Marcus (vocals): “We all grew up with Metal and HipHop. So it was clear to us from the beginning that we would be making a combination of these two styles.“

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Marcus (vocals): “Alex, Pirmin and Marcel knew each other a long time before the band was formed but have always been making music together. Then around the end of 2013 Marcel got into a conversation with me and asked if I would like to join the band.“

4. Each band member favourite band?

Jimmy = “Limp Bizkit“

Alex = “Of Mice & Men“

Pirmin = “Rage Against The Machine“

Marcel = “Stray From The Path“

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Marcus (vocals): “Well, trials and tribulations, struggles, overcoming obtacles. You know.....Life!!“

Marcel (drums): “Then there‘s the challenge of combining our favourite sounds and styles (Metal, HipHop, Oldskool, Hardcore...) to something thats new.“

6. Where was your last gig?

Marcus (vocals): “That was a Support-Show in south Germany at one of the shows of the “25th Anniversary Tour“ for DOG EAT DOG!“

7. Where would you like to act?

All: “Definitely at 'Vans Warped Tour' - North America“

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

All: “Method Man“ & “Redman“; John Conner (Dog Eat Dog); “Cypress Hill“;

9. Whom not?

All: “Kanye West“

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Marcus (vocals): “Yes, all of us have! But before we get on stage it really helps to relax, stay confident, visualize success and push each other to give their best. And of course sometimes.....a Beer!“

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

“Rage Against The Machine“, “Limp Bizkit“, “Beastie Boys“, “Cypress Hill“, “Wu-Tang Clan“, “Jamaram“, “Deez Nuts“, “Stray From The Path“

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Marcus (vocals): “Sometimes people come up to us with pretty fun questions. Like when they can‘t pronounce 'New Tenants' right. Once somebody asked if we were called the 'Nutellas' :D“

13. What do you think of your fans?

Marcus (vocals): “They‘re absolutely awesome! We appreciate them all....I mean what would we be without them? And the support that we get from our fans here is just incredible.“

14. What do you think of our site?

All: “We really like and appreciate the fact that you support and promote smaller and independant bands, and ones that are just at the beginning of their career to help them get their name out there and known.“
