Our Conquest - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band Our Conquest from Australia, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name came from all of us sitting at practice going through our music through song titles and yelling out words that we thought would be call, so the name stemmed from a song called "Conquest" from a band called "Of Whispers"

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

We didn't really set out to play metalcore, we just started writing whatever we loved and could move to, I remember the first practice we all just said "Let's write bouncy heavy music" and natural progression got us to "The Dreamer"

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The band actually started from a few bridges being mended the original OC line up comprised of me and 3 dudes from an older band Attica/Cora Dean (we had changed our name and line up) and we all wanted to play those songs one last time, and then yeah we started writing new stuff.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Kaine - The Devil Wears Prada, Green Day

Jake - Parkway Drive

Adam - Green Day

Brad - Everytime I Die

Luke -  Everytime I Die

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I mean, everyone hears something they like and will be like "lets write shit like that" but really we just love playing shows and playing music that gets people moving so we write what we wanna hear and what we know will get people rowdy!

6. Where was your last gig?  

Our last gig was at Enigma Bar with what I would say are Adelaide's most promising bands!

7. Where would you like to act?  

I think I speak for the entire band when I say Thebarton theatre or interstate.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

I think there are way to many artists to list ahah

9. Whom not?  

No-one really, if it means helping others out and spreading our message, why not?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

I don't think any of us have to be honest, we've all individually been doing it a while. I think for us, people come out to shows to see a performance not just watch a band stand still, so that'd be our tip, just have fun, people are there to see you perform, don't be nervous!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

I think it ranges from everything we've seen live, to anything we listened to growing up!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing yet

13. What do you think of your fans?  

The ones we do have that aren't family or friends are fucking awesome, they are the kindest people, and we've been lucky enough to befriend them

14. What do you think of our site?  

It's rad, plain and simple, doing awesome things and not bias to a bands message or look, its good, need more of it!
