WINDRUNNER - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Progressive Metalcore/Djent band WINDRUNNER from Vietnam, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We play a video game called DOTA2 and windrunner is one of the characters. We thought that it was a fitting name because after our previous bands broke up, we made it through with this band so it represents us being able to endure the pressure and still move forward, like running in the wind. haha

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

We played in –core bands before this and this is our community so it was natural that we have the sound that you could classify as “metalcore”. However, we didn’t choose any specific genre. We also wanted to take in new influences so all the songs were written really spontaneously. We just want to make good music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

We already knew each other and were all band-less so we were like hey let’s get together and play some music.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Life! All our songs are about real life, the struggles and being able to stay positive and open minded.

6. Where was your last gig?  

Our hometown Hanoi, Vietnam

7. Where would you like to act?  

Everywhere!!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Northlane, Volumes, Tien Tien. 9. Whom not?  None.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

It’s normal to get stage fright, just practice hard, build muscle memories (for instruments), memorize the words (for vocals) and just have fun on stage, that’s the most important thing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The music is inspired by our favorite bands like Volumes, Northlane, Architects, etc. and some Pop and R&B artists too. Inspirations for lyrics were mostly taken from Hundredth, Counterparts and Northlane.

12. What do you think of your fans?  

We love every one of our fans, thank you guys for the support. Please keep supporting our new EP coming June 2nd!
