Antes Do Erro - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Hardcore band Antes Do Erro from Brazil, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Before "Antes do Erro" (Before The Error), the band was named "Archote" (Torch), but there was another band with that name already, in Brazil. So we went through a hard process of choosing a nome. In that period many horrible and pathetic names came through, so I said to the boys: "Lets let it flow until it comes, we'll choose a cool name before we make another mistake". Then "Antes do Erro" came up.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Because melodic hardcore was the genre we grew up listening and some of out biggest influences are also in that genre!
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, we were already friends before. The idea of forming this band came up in a front of a local show of the other band where Victor (drums) and Maranhão (guitar) were playing. In that same gig, there was a Photo Exibition by Matheus (bass). The only one we didn't know from before was Junior "Tigre"(guitar), that made an audition to join the band.
4.Each band member favourite band?
"I don't know everyone's favorite... But mine (Caio - vocals) is Bad Religion!"
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
The daily life inspire our lyrics. Situations felt on skin, facts we observe and disagree, situations that any person who lives on planet earth go through serve as inspiration to our songs. It's something very natural and often we have some verses without even noticing.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last show took place in a festival called LOCAL PRIDE, it was a really cool event with an interaction between music, art and social responsibility, and shows exhibitions were held, zines were sold, material bands, lectures and collecting food for a foundation that treats people with special needs were held, too.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would like to go on tour, to travel to play, meet and make friends in distant places... It's amezing do not have a specific place but only the desire to know and touch the maximum possible places
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
It would be awesome to play with bands made up of friends who live in distant cities, friends and bands that we only know through the Internet.
9. Whom not?
With bands that propagate some sort of fascist ideology!
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
We are also beginners (laughs), we are always apprehensive of technical problems at the time of the show, we feel very comfortable on stage, every band should feel well, playing your music to someone is great... so, enjoy the moment.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I think the biggest inspiration is a Brazilian band that has ceased its activities called "Fullheart".
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We have no fans (laughs)
13. What do you think of your fans?
As I said we do not have fans, but luckily we have friends and people who support us and always show our prestige and we are very grateful to have an independent band. It's very difficult to have an independent band in Brazil, that is a country that does not value the investment in culture. It's even harder then any is totally welcome.
14. What do you think of our site?
I found fantastic! Keep disseminating and supporting underground/independent bands in the world. We need sites like Breathing the Core!
15. Something to add?
Thank you for giving us this opportunity. Keep assembling bands, writing zines, producing your own shows! And do it yourself!
