They Say Fall - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Rock/Post-Hardcore band They Say Fall from UK, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name?
It's a reference to the Reuben track 'Crimson'. It's initially about not knowing the person you are besotted with is a bad person, and doing anything they ask, to finally overcome the feelings and see them as they really are.
2.What made you want to play this genre?
We're all big fans of rock music, and it's many sub-genres. We try not to limit ourselves to one particular genre, so our music is a celebration of what we enjoy. Every person we speak to seems to have a different take on what we do, it's great!
3. Did you know each other before the band formed?
Kyle and Tom met through mutual friends in high school. Joe and Kyle played in previous bands together, and developed a solid musical bond from an early age. Brad was a member of a local band we all knew and looked up to in the early days, and after that band split, we pillaged him for our own. Kehn always looked up to the bands the rest of us played in, and being a little younger than the rest of us, took part in a school talent showcase, that we happened to come across on YouTube whilst searching for a vocalist.
4. Who're each of your favourite bands?
Tom -Glassjaw Kyle - Finch
Brad - The Dillinger Escape Plan
Kehn - VersaEmerge
Joe - The Black Dahlia Murder
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
A little bit of everything! From Edgar Allen Poe, to Arnold Schwarzengger. From general life experiences and other important matters that happen worldwide. We find inspiration at the strangest of times.
6. Where was your last gig?
The last show we played was at The Scene in Lincoln with Falling With Style. Those guys absolutely destroyed it!
7. Where would you like to play?
Warped Tour would be sweet, and of course being back at Download Festival would be amazing!
8. Whom would you like to play a show with?
We'd be pretty stoaked if we could do a run of shows with Finch, Norma Jean, Deftones, Glassjaw or The Dillinger Escape Plan. To be honest, we'd be happy touring with anyone. We just love to play.
9. Whom not?
To be honest, we're willing to play with anyone. There are always new people to reach even in what most people would consider tough audiences.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to overcome that?
Experience is the key. The more you perform in front of an audience the easier it gets, so always try to relax and enjoy yourself. If all else fails, smash something.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Finch, Metallica, Norma Jean, Paramore, Mac Sabbath (seriously, check Mac Sabbath out, it's worth it)
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We have a really high tollerence for "weird" so we're yet to expereience anything too strange. Bring it on!
13. What do you think of your fans?
They're amazing. They keep the wheels moving, and they're extremely dedicated and supportive. It might sound like a cliche, but our fans are our friends. We want to have a relationship with each individual that supports us, it's that important to us.
14. What do you think of our site?
It's great! We first checked out awhile ago. It's a really great source of information about some upcoming bands. We've deffinatly found about some new music reading over the features.
15. Something to add?
Make sure you check out our bandcamp page! Head over to http://theysayfall.bandcamp.com to grab some merch and free music! Everything we've ever recorded is on there, and you can pay as little or as much as you'd like for it. We'd rather that those without the option of paying still have the option of listening to our stuff! Finally, thanks for interviewing us! It's been a pleasure!
