Witness The Recreant - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Well, I learned the meaning of "recreant" when I got into Chelsea Grin (around 2009.) When we came together for the band name we put it together to basically mean; to look down on the cowards and scum of the Earth.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?    

We're a mix of downtempo, death metal, slam, and hardcore. Basically putting Ingested, KING, and Molotov Solution together in our own way because of our own musical preferences mixing.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

All of the current members were recruited into the band before knowing eatchother at all, it has worked pretty well so far.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Slater- From First to Last

Neeko- After the Burial

Jordan- Taking Back Sunday

Lex- The Acacia Strain

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?    

For guitar he pretty much jams it out with his heavy influences, lyricaly I use personal ideas and experiences.

6. Where was your last gig?      

Our last show was in Clovis, NM at The Hole, it's a pretty rad place. We're on tour from the 2nd through the 17th, you can find the dates on our Facebook.

7. Where would you like to act?      

Where would we like to play? We're looking at hooking up with a tour booking company so bigger tours are in the works for the future.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?        

For vocal features we want... Tom Barber from Lorna Shore Dickie Allen from Infant Annihilator Matt Childers from Gatekeeper Guillaume Villenueve from Beyond Deviation

9. Whom not?  

I don't want to say there is necessarily a list of people that we don't want, more like a list of the people that would fit.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?      

Lex says to suck it up and quit being a bitch. Neeko and Jordan's advice is to get possesed, so yeah.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?      

Neeko - KING, Ingested, Dark Sermon, Angelmaker

Jordan - Necrophagist, Job for a Cowboy, I Declare War

Lex - Anger, filth, and hatred

Slater - Ingested, Dickie Allen, Whitechapel

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?    

We actually havn't any strange requests yet, sadly.

13. What do you think of your fans?      

Our fans, especially our home base, are sooo supportive and they are definitely the gears that turn us for sure.

14.What do you think of our site?

Any site that promotes bands is automatically sick as fuck in my opinion. The band life isn't the easiest mentally or financially, any support is super important.
