And Now The Weather - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore band And Now The Weather from USA, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
On top of being a typical news catchphrase, it was also a line from the podcast “Welcome to Nightvale.” Once every episode, the host will say “And Now the Weather,” at that point a new song plays. We thought this was appropriate because out lyrics discuss a variety of social issues impacting the world today.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Our sound really just came out of playing together. We are 6 different musicians that listen to many different genres. I think our sound is really just a combination of all of those.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Kind of! Caleb’s old band played one of Alex’s shows. So that is how those two met. When Caleb’s old band disbanded both of them were looking for new bands to be in. Alex asked a good friend of his Jared to join the band as well as his friend from college, Justin. While Caleb had asked his high school acquaintances (Johnny and Christian) to join. And we have been a really tight group of friends ever since.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Johnny – La Dispute
Jared – Being As an Ocean
Caleb – And So I Watch You From Afar / Into It. Over it.
Alex – Hot Water Music
Justin – Bruce Springsteen
Christian – Weezer / Gorilla Biscuits
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Frustration at the world and how people and animals are treated by those that are more “powerful.”
6. Where was your last gig?
At GameChanger World with Hotel Books, Worthwhile and Movements
7. Where would you like to act?
We are open to play anywhere, from a dirty basement to Union Transfer.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Ah, this is a hard question. It would be a dream to open for La Dispute. That’s at least who we would fit with the best.
9. Whom not?
Anyone who is judgmental of others or take advantage of their fame.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I think stage fright is a common thing to have in the beginning. But practice makes perfect. The more you do something the more you get used to it. I usually just get in my own zone and just play like no one is watching.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I would say La Dispute, Mewithoutyou, and Brand New.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
I don’t think our fans have asked us for anything weird. At least to my knowledge. We are just thankful for their love and support.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our biggest fans are our friends and family at this point. So yeah, they are pretty great.
14. What do you think of our site?
It’s great publicity for upcoming and emerging bands. Anything that gets the word out about young bands is rad to us!
15. Something to add?
Make music. No matter if its alone or with an orchestra. Whether you are male or female. Whether you play sold out shows or play to no one. Because it really is one of the most cathartic things you could do.
