Burn My Bridges - Interview
In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Hardcore band Burn My Bridges from South Korea, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It is very hard to make a band name using english in korea. it's very tough, so we discussed many ideas. I was young so I want struggled with everything.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
15 years ago, when i was 19 it was a very hard time, I just study, study and had no future. The only thing i liked was punk rock like the clash, so finally i wanted to play like this shit.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, we were in other bands that played other genres like punk, fast core, metal, youth crew. .. so manygenres but within the same scene. The scene is pretty small but very strong here in Korea.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Minor Threat, Black Flag, No Warning, Guns Up, Turnstile, Sick Of It All, Madball and Vivisick.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Just my life. I don't want to say that I don't know and that I don't feel. but I just want to relate the lyrics to my life, I'm sure about what I feel, what I know, what I want to say. all that shit inspires me.
6. Where was your last gig?
The 15/8/2015 townhall records 10th anniversary show, it was an amazing show, fucking tiny spot, crazy people, nice beer and with good bands and people.
7. Where would you like to act?
I don't fucking care. drum set. amp. and good people. that's it. I just want to say thanks for the offer to play the show.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I don't care, I just need respect that´s all I need.
9. Whom not?
Racists.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I don't think so. because, every member has many good experiences before Burn My Brdiges. Drummer(joseph) was in another hardcore band which is called ex CxSxT(oldschool hardcore. sounds like minor threat). Guitarist and Bassist were in a metalic hardcore band called Last of the Diehards. and I(vocal) was in Re/animator(fastcore. sounds like spazz, dropdead etc. but only one time I had suffered is the Sick Of It All korea tour(2011). I think Burn My Bridges was not good enough to play with SOIA for tour mates (there's two more tour mates. they deserved to be with(the Geeks, Jonny Royal)). but townhall owner Kyusuck and Ki from the geeks trusted BMB and wanted to give us the chance. I really really appreciated it. but had a bit of a fright and nervousness about it.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
BMB's sound is still changing, so it is very hard to choose. now a days, expire and guns up and rotting out.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
I think i don't have any, sadly there's not so many fans of BMB. tragedy, but bmb has a lot of good supporters and friends.
13. What do you think of your fans?
A lot of people say, South Korean hardcore scene is small but very powerfull because of supporters and friends. if someone wants to be our friend, there will be no barrier.
14. What do you think of our site?
I think your site is so sick and so helpful for the bands like BMB and people who come from small scenes like here in my country, therefore thank you so much for interviewing us.
15. Something to add?
In Burn My Bridges every member has a job and are a little bit old, but we will still go on. making songs, recording albums will take some time but please don't forget us and check the facebook page.
