Casteform - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Hardcore Punk band Casteform from USA, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

When we formed the band we were debating on different names. It wasn't until our bassist started mentioning class systems in different cultures that we all agreed upon Casteform.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It's difficult to pin point a specific genre that we can classify ourselves as. It all comes down to all of us mixing our own musical ideas into one.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Kriss (guitar) and Jonathan (vocals) have known each other since childhood. Ozzy (bass) and Justin (drums) also friends since childhood.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Kriss - At the Drive In

Ozzy - Lifetime

Jonathan - Beach House

Justin - Saints Never Surrender

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lyrically and musically finally being able to write on a personal level that we all can relate too.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at a house in Las Vegas as we ended a tour.

7. Where would you like to act?

We have all agreed that Japan would be cool.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Touché, At the Drive-In, Glassjaw are some of the few we would be more than happy to share the stage with.

9. Whom not?

To be honest being able to be featured with any act is an opportunity to share our music to new ears no matter what the genre is or who the individuals are.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

We all suffer from stage fright in our own individual way to this day. For us we believe that the day we're no longer nervous and scared to preform is the day we no longer keep creating music. As for advice, the best advice we can give people is to not forget that music is an outlet to express yourself and to be as creative as you can be with your music and your performance.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There so many bands that have inspired us in many ways but if we had to name a few it would be Jawbox, Cursive, at the drive-in, Comadre, Nirvana, Calculator, Loma Prieta

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

One story we can recall is this one time Justin (drummer) was setting up his drum set for our performance while we were touring and this girl came up to him, grabbed his drum stick and asked if she could keep it. But that was the only set of sticks Justin had left that night so he told her he needed both and she responded by saying "but can I still have it?"

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We just like to say that we appreciate everyone that has supported us with anything we do from checking out our music, buying merch from us, to spreading the word about Casteform through word of mouth or through social networks, that really means the world to us

14. What do you think of our site?  

We think it's awesome and appreciate that it helps local bands reach out to new people, by promoting, doing interviews and reviews

We would like to thank everyone that has helped us and continues to help us by spreading the word about our music.
