Evolution Of Self - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore/Hardcore band Evolution Of Self from Australia, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We got the name from a friend who mentioned it to us one day. We all agreed on it pretty much straight away and figured lock it in before anyone changes their mind and it takes us forever to think of one again.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We all have a common passion for metal and hardcore music, whether it be different sub genre's but as a whole we all have that middle ground love for metal core which I think best sums up our sound.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We all knew at least one other person in the band and had become friends through each other's association with the other person, but were all brothers now.
4. Each band member favourite band?
My favourite band would be Machine Head, Tim's - As I Lay Dying, Jez D - Terror, Jez B - Rage Against The Machine & Deano probably Lamb of God.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Personally my biggest inspiration is Robb Flynn of Machine Head, anyone that can sing and play guitar to me is a dead set legend & just the way he holds himself & the way MH can evolve their sound with still keeping true to themselves is pretty sweet. As for personal inspiration with writing, I find I tend to get in different zones with what style of riffs I write relating to what type of music I'm listening to at the time.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was at The Reverence Hotel in Footscray, which was actually our EP launch show. Was a great success.
7. Where would you like to act?
Festival Hall for sure
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Machine Head, Parkway Drive and 36 Crazyfists
9. Whom not?
Kanye West. What a flog.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
We all have gotten nervous from time to time. The main thing is to remember why your doing it - because you love it. And once you get started you realise you've got this!!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Parkway Drive. Being an aussie band thats dominating the scene its hard not to look up to them.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Probably just a photo with me. Nothing weird haha. Who would want my mug to ruin a perfectly good photo!
13. What do you think of your fans?
Legends. All of them.
14. What do you think of our site?
I think its great exposure you guys provide for upcoming acts and there's always new content to keep people coming back for more!
15. Something to add?
To the people out their contributing to the local scene's, just know that bands appreciate all the support they get. It's hard enough to compete for exposure and gigs, so all the genuine rad people you meet along the way make the whole experience so much more worthwhile. Whether it be sound engineers, photographers and of course punters it all helps make bands feel important and keeps the motivation going.
