Glass Harbour - Interview

Glass Harbour Online Promo shot

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Hardcore band Glass Harbour from UK, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We never really planned our name, we originally nearly named ourselves, 'Gold Coast' (after the Heights song) but soon moved on from that and it was a case of just throwing names around for a few weeks really till we settled on 'Glass Harbour'.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because it's the sort of music we like to create and play.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us knew each other prior, either by being in bands together or playing alongside each others bands, while some of us didn't really know each very well, but knew of them!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Andy: While She Sleeps and After The Burial

Dan: Thrice

Lewis: Currently, I The Mighty

Matt: Don Broco

Rob: Cancer Bats

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We have a really big range of influences, but i'd say we're mainly influenced by bands like Napoleon, Capsize, The Ghost Inside, Being As An Ocean, Crooks and those sort of bands!

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was on Friday 31st July at Independent in Sunderland where we played the Mammothfest warm up show! Few of our good mates were also on like All At Sea, Guardian and A Dying Reign.

7. Where would you like to act?

Where wouldn't we want to act?

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We'd love to just play shows with bands we love really!

9. Whom not?

Bands/artists are a. bad and b. arrogant

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?  Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I had stage fright when I first started out in bands years ago, only tips I can really say is to trust yourself and just do it.(Rob)  (Lewis) I had a break from shows and bands during college so when I got back to it I did experience a lot of shaking on stage but that went away more shows I started doing. Best help is just be as prepared as you can be and give it your best.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Rob: Personally, Cancer Bats and Stick To Your Guns are my biggest inspiration as both a front man and a writer! I think that Jesse from Stick To Your Guns is just such a powerful speaker, very hard hitting words!

Lewis: I switch all the time but at the minute, John Butler Trio, just an honest writer and incredible guitarist.

Dan: Thrice. They are the band that taught me to never stop progressing as a musician and as a band. Without their music I probably wouldn't be who I am.

Andy: For me, it's Parkway Drive. The fact that they pretty much redefined a genre and create their own, their live shows and tour videos always gave me unreal amounts of inspiration to be in a band!

Matt: More so than bands, the thing that inspires me the most is to have a fun time!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing particularly weird has happened yet really... A fan asked if he could join us and add ambient synth over our music if that counts!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are awesome! Lovely people!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's class! Really good way to find new music; honestly there's something there for everyone and I think that's rad!

15. Something to add?

We're Glass Harbour, we have politics about where we eat and we like Will Smith.
