The Afterimage - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Metalcore band The Afterimage from Canada, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The idea spawned from a piece of artwork title "AFTERIMAGE" from a website Kyle frequents called "depthcore". He was captivated by piece and looked into the definition and felt it suited the sound the band was attempting to convey.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We all came from local bands in the scene that were playing different styles of metalcore, we wanted to create techinical and rentlessly heavy music at first with a few melodic passages... but it got to the point where we were more inspired by the use of melody over time. Hence the addition of the sung vocals.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, the original lineup was comprised of several members of local bands called The Prologue & Centuries Apart.
4. Each band member favourite band?
That's a tough one, and very had to narrow down.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We have many influences, lately we've been influenced by The Weeknd, The 1975, Dance Gavin Dance, Hands Like Houses, CHON & many more.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last show was played in our original hometown Barrie, ON, Canada in DEC 2013.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would like to travel all over the world to play music. I know Europe and Japan are definitely places we would like to visit soon.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Would be interesting to have some guest vocalist from outside of the genre feature on the record, something weird like a rapper or maybe and RnB singer.
9. Whom not?
Don't really have an answer to this one, we are pretty open to anything!
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I don't think anyone in the band has suffered from stage fright, we all love playing and are used to being on stage. All can really say is just practice a lot and do your thing and the rest comes naturally.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I think the influences above kind of answer this question.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Haven't really had any odd requests of any kind from fans, they are always cool and down to earth.
13. What do you think of your fans?
I think our fans are the most important aspect of this project. We would not exist without them or be able to function. They are vital and they are cherished. I think a lot of bands take their fans for granted. We do our best to respond to as many messages as possible and show our grattitude for the support.
14. What do you think of our site?
The site is awesome, keep it up!
15. Something to add?
Thanks for interviewing us!
