The Escape - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Rock/Post-Hardcore band The Escape from USA, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
In 2010 we had a different lineup and a different name, and after a lot of lists we decidedon "The Escape" because that's what music is for us.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We're rock musicians at the core. It's what we write. It's just what we play.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Steve and Josh were in a band prior to forming the Escape. That band toured with Monte's former band.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Steve - Genesis/Phil Collins
Josh - Pink Floyd
Monte - Thrice
Mike - NOFX
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We're inspired by a lot of things. Lyrically it's the relationships in our lives and what's going on in the world around us; We're living in a very intense time in history. Musically I'd say our greatest inspiration is great songwriting. You listen to bands like the Beatles and Queen, they wrote songs that not only musically incredible but they touch a nerve and still resonate with listeners over 30 years later.
6. Where was your last gig?
We played Gregapalooza in NJ.
7. Where would you like to act?
We'd love to do some improv comedy, like "Whose Line is It Anway"
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We'd love to play a show with Bayside, Thrice, or Journey.
9. Whom not?
Who wouldn't we play with? Hmm. Nobody. We'll play with anyone.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Confidence is key to over-coming stage fright. Being well rehearsed is always a big thing. And repetition. The more shows you play the more confident you'll feel and the less stage fright you'll experience.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Watching and listening to the Foo Fighters inspires us to be better at what we do. Jimmy Eat World, Thrice, any band that is writing solid rock music.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Someone once asked for a signature on the paper plate Josh was eating off of.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They're the world to us.
14. What do you think of our site?
The site is great. You guys give a well laid out and appealing platform for bands both big and on their way up to gain exposure.
15. Something to add?
Our new record "The Mark We Leave Behind" is available on Itunes worldwide. Our record release show will be on Aug 1st at the Northstar Bar in Philadelphia, PA.
