A Higher Demise - Interview
In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band A Higher Demise from UK, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The working title for the band name, before the band was even formed was ‘Death of Kings’ named after the novel. Once the band had fully formed, we wanted something that wouldn’t be over shadowed on Google so we twisted it into ‘A Higher Demise’
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
At first we had planned to be way heavier. We wanted to be 100% Screamed vocals and lean more toward death metal. It was only once we started making music that we realised we were naturally far more melodic, and were far better at this than the really heavy stuff.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
It was our guitarist Dan who initially brought us all together, at first we were all connected through him but none of us had actually met.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Charlie – A Day To Remember
Dan – Parkway Drive
James – Still Remains
Terry – Funeral for a Friend (may they rest in peace)
Rachael – All That Remains
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Other awesome songs, definitely. From all kinds of genres, we love metalcore and we love being catchy. When we hear something incredible in either category it gets us started.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was Folkestone. One of our favourite places to play. There’s a group down there that come out to see us and support us no end, they always make us feel welcome.
7. Where would you like to act?
Game of Thrones! But we’d probably be killed off pretty quickly.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Anyone who could bring Jon Snow back? Sorry for the spoiler.
9. Whom not?
Anyone who’s ever asked ‘Why do you listen to devil music?’.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Not really, our gigs progressed slowly so it was more like making mistakes and not being able to think clearly from nerves and pressure. Best advice we can give is literally prepare for any possible outcome. If something can go wrong, then it will during a gig.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
People always draw comparisons between us and bands like A Day To Remember and Bring Me The Horizon. That’s pretty accurate, so we’ll go with them.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
There’s been some weird stuff, but its still odd when people ask for our autographs!
13. What do you think of your fans?
The people that support us and get behind us are invaluable. We just want people to give us a try. We’re always so grateful when people do.
14. What do you think of our site?
Your site is awesome, all the subgenres are broken down perfectly and there’s even a Nintendocore section! Love it.
15. Something to add?
Thank you Breathing the Core for taking the time to ask us some questions, thanks for putting us up on your site and thanks to anyone who have given this a read! Regards Terry A Higher Demise
