Chuggaboom - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

As a follower of The Chugg Life, it is important to me to ensure others are reminded to engage in daily chuggaworship with the Chugg Lord, king of the zodiacs. Choosing the name ChuggaBoom was a really simple solution to help spread the message of the Chuggalos.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Let's be honest here. There is only really one genre that matters. Some call it Awesomecore, some just call it Metalcore. I just call it a way of life.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

When we were placed on this earth by the all-supreme Chugg Lord, it was hard-wired in our genetic code to gravitate towards one another to form this band. It took a while, but our destiny found us. We formed the band instantly and we've been writing, recording and releasing the best music on the scene since.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Well, that's a bit of an easy question isn't it? ChuggaBoom. Collectively though we all like Attila and Asking Alexandria. They may not know it, but they follow the chugg life closer than they might think.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lyrically it depends on the song. Sometimes I just feel a desire to spread the word of the Chugg Lord (like the track Humorously Elongating The Title Of This Song), and other times I have a deep emotional need to talk about a specific emotion or event (such as the track Kowabunga Dude!). Musically it all comes to us from the hand of our Lord and saviour. We are blessed with the gift to write the most perfect chuggatracks in the world - something we thank the Chugg Lord daily for.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was in Birmingham at The Rainbow Cellar. We met a lot of incredibly dedicated chuggalos and everyone had a great time. Many meet-and-greet packages were sold.

7. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Nah. Stage fright isn't something a follower of The Chugg Life feels. Once you have been converted to the cause, you are elevated to a level above fear and anxiousness. We are the greatest musicians alive, and everyone else knows it.

8. What bands have inspired you the most?

Us. We inspire ourselves all the time. Occasionally another local band like Of Mice and Men might give us inspiration for a couple of riffs, but apart from that it's all handed down to us from our God.

9. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One chuggalo, desperate to show his love and dedication to the cause offered to intimately touch us individually before our show to "get us in the mood." What he didn't realise is that we are always in the mood and as soon as he saw Virgo's snooker cue he ran off - intimidated. There was another fan that asked us for a thank you note. What the fuck was that about?

10. What do you think of your fans?  

The Chuggalos are the reason we are able to function. Literally. We need their money in order to sustain a suitable way of life. So as long as they are providing us with financial gains, we love them.
