INFALL - Interview

IN FALL Photo 2

In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore/Mathcore band INFALL from Italy, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Hello Breathing The Core! Well, we chose it because “it sounded good”. We wanted a name that was easy to remember, that had no specific meaning and that inspired a certain feeling. Fall can be Autumn, and we know what autumn stands for. Fall can also represent something that is going to break, but it’s not broken yet. We are Infall, written as one word, because we want to embody a feeling, not a concept.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We "decided" to play this genre because of many reasons. But probably the most important one was "taking up the challenge" of playing a difficult kind of music that is appreciated by few people. Furthermore, this is probably the best genre where you can put your anger in, and this completely fitted our intentions. Last but not least, this is the music we all listen to.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Before the band was formed Alessio (voice) and Lorenzo (drums) used to play together in a band called Greycube (hardcore), meanwhile Miky (guitar) and Cisco were playing in a band called Alchemikal (alternative metal). When Greycube split up Alessio and Lorenzo started looking for a guitarist for a new project, and after some auditions they found Miky, who called Cisco and so on...

4. Each band member favourite band?

It’s hard to say… There’s not just one favourite band for each member. Simplifying a lot we could say Converge for Lorenzo, Refused for Alessio, Rage Against The Machine for Cisco and System Of A Down for Miky… Pretty various!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everyday’s life. Our lyrics are inspired by what happens, what we see around us everyday. We see a society based on hypocrisy, conformism, on a way of living which is influenced by bore in a background of scattered depression. The music we make is nothing less than a reaction to all this.

6. Where was your last gig?

Rock ‘n’ Roll Club in Milan with a band called Diverbia. Good guys and awesome band.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would say worldwide! Our dream is to play gigs outside Italy, also because we’re a pretty young band. What’s important for us is to play for people who can understand and appreciate what we do.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Oh, God…There are a lot of artists we love. As producers Rick Rubin or, even better for us, Kurt Ballou. As musicians we could mention Page Hamilton, Mike Patton, Chino Moreno, Maynard Keenan… It would be fantastic.

9. Whom not?

Not specifically someone. For sure we wouldn’t feature with musicians or producers that have interest in making money more than making good music.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No we haven’t, hopefully. We always face the performance as a positive experience because we’re sure that, even if things goes wrong, we’ll do our best while we are on stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Mainly Converge, Everytime I Die and Dillinger Escape Plan.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Usually we’re the ones who ask weird things to our fans. No, joking aside, this year we haven’t received any weird request yet!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We think they’re sick because in Italy it’s hard to find open minded people, as in music as in all the rest.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your website is really cool and personally I like a lot the way it’s organized, because usually it’s easy to “lose yourself” in a website. Furthermore I like the fact your site is specialized on core music, and this kicks ass.

15. Something to add?

We hope you’ll enjoy our EP Nitecomes, available on Spotify, Itunes and SoundCloud.  We cant’t wait to see you at one of our gigs. All the best.  Enjoy the fall.
