Live Like Glass - Interview
In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore band Live Like Glass from USA, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
I was going through a bit of a hard time actually(Danny.) I had just gotten kicked out of my last band. I was in that band with some pretty good friends, so it was a little rough to hear that the band I started with them no longer wanted me in it. I felt a little betrayed. I wanted to make a comeback though. I wanted to create something "real." It's to Live Like Glass. Be who you are. No more fronting. No more fakes. Live Like You would be a better way to sum it up. -Danny
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
It honestly just comes naturally. We're not entirely sure what genre we fit in, because we are constantly growing and change. Like our new album, we feel, is COMPLETELY different from when we released "Always Unrequited." We've developed a lot, and our skills have advanced a lot further.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Actually, yes! I've been friends with Michael for about 10 years. We practically grew up together. He was one of my first friends when I moved to a bigger city. We met Soren in Highschool for a talent show. We were both going to do the same song. Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Aparatus. Instead of competing against each other for the spot, we decided to just go all out and perform together. Oddly enough it wasn't for about 2 years that Live Like Glass was created. Tomas later came in as a very last minute fill in for Live Like Glass' first show at a run down empty bar called Rumours, ever since we've kept him around, haha. Shortly after that we recruited Tomas' brother Cisco and "the rest is history!"
4. Each band member favourite band?
Soren has always been a long time fan of Chiodos, something about that orchestra "feel" really get's him. Danny is a huge fan of Green Day. It's actually what got him into playing music! Michael's favorite band would have to be Falling In Reverse. Jackie Vincent is his man-crush. ;) Tomas' favorite band would have to be Slipknot. The older stuff more though. Finally, Cisco's favorite band would have to be Memphis May Fire. Loves the heavy riffs!
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We inspire ourselves with our experiences. Our fans inspire us to keep going. Life inspire us with the way it’s constantly growing and changing. The way we look at it is that if we don’t know anything about it or have experienced it first hand, then we don’t write about it. It wouldn’t feel right. I don’t think we’d be able to apply the same passion that we do now if we just wrote songs about anything. We aim to connect not pretend.
6. Where was your last gig?
The last place we played was at The Blu Phoenix in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was amazingly hot! Haha Very cool people! Definitely worth going back!
7. Where would you like to act?
We’ve always wanted to play in the UK. It just seems “right.” It just looks like a beautiful place. Feels like they appreciate music in a way we are not used to. All in all it seems like an amazing experience that we want to be apart of! Honestly, we will play anywhere that will take us! Haha
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
It’s so hard to choose! We’ll just list the people! Vic Fuentes from Pierce The Veil, Chris Motionless from Motionless In White, Corey Taylor from Slipknot, Matty Mullens from Memphis May Fire, Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens, and possibly Fronz from Atilla. I guess basically just all the powerhouses of the scenes. Haha.
9. Whom not?
There’s not too many artists that we wouldn’t like to work with… The biggest one we would not want to work with is the members of Blood On The Dancefloor. They just don’t seem like people we want to be affiliated with.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I personally experience stage fright still here and there. It’s nerve-racking when you play a new song you’ve never played before. Or if you’re trying something new. You honestly stand up there hoping people will like you. The best advice I could give is to go out there and have fun with it. Truly just let go of everything and have fun. If you’re having fun, the crowd will too! You can only regret what you haven’t done. -Danny
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
The band’s that have inspired us the most would have to be Green Day, Motionless In White, Slipknot, and like band’s that are just “different.” Different through sound and image. We tend to be more attracted to the darker things in life… Haha.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
The weirdest thing a fan has ever asked us for would have to be Danny’s leggings from the “Just A Misunderstanding” video. It’s a little odd when strangers ask for your clothes...
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans... Well… They are some of the best in the world! We are so amazed on how far they have taken us! They support is everyday. We honestly would be nothing but a few guys in make-up singing songs in a garage wearing tight girly clothes. Now we get to be a few guys wearing make-up singing songs at an actual venue wearing tight girl clothes! Movin’ on up!
14. What do you think of our site?
It’s very clean. Seems more like a community than just reviews, interviews, and such. Live Like Glass APPROVED!
15. Something to add?
Keep an eye out for our first full-length album coming soon!
