LONELY SPRING - Interview
In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band LONELY SPRING from Germany, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We've been playing music since we all were very young. So the idea of forming a band wasn't something that just came to our minds one day. It was something we always wanted to do.
Therefore we actually knew how we would name our project before we even started to act as a band. I mean, somehow it came out just like that, but that happened way before the band saw the light of the day.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Although we usually listen to all different kinds of music, this was basically that one genre we just love listening to the most. Apart from that, most of the time we're highly open-minded when to deal with topics like songwriting and arrangement of our songs. Consequently it's not just 'Hardcore' music which inspires us to do what we're doing, it's the art behind every piece of music out there. If a song, no matter if it's (good) pop or hard rock, makes an impression on us and the thought of taking that as influence for the next possible song idea is reasonably satisfactory for all members of the band, then it will probably influence the process of writing the next couple of songs.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We did. My brother Simon, Manuel and I have even been friends since 5th grade. But we also got to know our drummer Matthias before the band for he used to play in a befriended band.
4. Each band members favourite band?
Matthias: Architects
Manuel: Callejon
Simon: Bring Me The Horizon
Jul: Enter Shikari
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We already talked about 'who' does in the second question. So what's left is 'what' does influence us. Usually we write songs about personal things, private experiences, private thoughts and so on. But to be completely honest, it's kinda hard to generalise the procedure of chiefly the emergence of the lyrical part, which deals mostly with the 'what inspires us'. It all really depends, because it has something to do with how we feel at the moment of writing and what we think at that time. Sometimes a song is about political questions, sometimes about personal ones.
6. Where was your last gig?
In Passau two days ago.
7. Where would you like to act?
In actual fact everywhere, where the audience feels like listening to our music.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
There are lots of good singers and shouters out there, but I guess we would go for Sam Carter.
9. Whom not?
That's a question we're not really able to answer. Because there's actually no such thing as an artist we couldn't imagine working with.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
When we play bigger stages than the ones we're used to, we somehow suffer from something I would call so, but I guess this is kinda normal. For any beginner out there: Be a little more confident, but also a little more grateful for the ones who came to see your show. With these two things in connection, you're good to go.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Way too many to list here. Every band we've ever listened to and still do.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Not really anything weird yet. A lot of crazy stuff happens at shows, but the questions we get asked are one of these things that aren't weird at all. At least most of the time (laugh).
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are the reason why all of this is possible. Without people listening to what we do, everything we actually do wouldn't even make sense.
14. What do you think of our site?
A great opportunity for bands that aren't that huge yet.
15. Something to add?
Our first official EP will drop on the 14th of november. First single is already out and will also be available for purchase very soon. See you, cheers!
