In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Melodic Hardcore band Promises Kept from Germany, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Oh, well. I'm [Steven / Vocals] in the band since 2013. They got another singer before [greets to Seppo] and he was the one that came up with the band name. It's inspired by the legendary LP PROMISES KEPT by Champion. You have to know that Promises Kept was more into Oldschool Hardcore before I came into the band. But, we all would get more melodic. So it was not only me who brings this more melodic sound into the band. I love Oldschool Hardcore, too and got a lot of respect for bands like Champion, Have Heart and maybe Bane. So... Yeah. Promises Kept is a pretty cool name.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

All the band members are totally into Hardcore, Melodic Hardcore, Modern Hardcore, Metalcore and so on. So you could say, that we are influenced by the music and bands we love.  3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?   Some of us know each other for many years and some of us met in the band for the first time. What I could say is that we all have become very good friends after all this time.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Some bands that all of us love are Capsize, Counterparts, Architects, Defeater, Hundredth and bands like that.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

First of all I have to say the music and bands that we love. On the other hand, love, life and anger. The things that happen to you, when you live your life. And that is what I love about hardcore music. Hardcore always works for me. It's there for me when I'm in love, when I'm sad and even when I'm upset. And these are the moments that inspires us the most.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig we played was a very special one! A friend of us was coming up with his own booking agency [greets to Chris] named Heart For Core. The last gig we played was the first Heart For Core event with our very good friends in Betray Your Idols. It was like a big family meeting and we got to know some other bands that are very good friends now! Valley, Trapped In Cold Season and World & Dreams. Cheers to them! Love them all!

7. Where would you like to act?

Boston, Hardcore Capital. Maybe with Have Heart, Bane, Defeater and Converge. That would be nice.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Brendan from Counterparts. Because, I would like to see how to become such a goddamn good singer like him! Maybe he would give me some advice. His vocals are overwhelming!

9. Whom not?

Maybe Brendan from Counterparts. Because if he would do a feature in one of our songs, I would totally suck in comparison to him.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Me not. I don't know why but I was never afraid of being on stage or in front of a "big" audience. My tip is to tell yourself that there is nothing to be frightened of. Be yourself, breath easy and do the same thing with the same passion like you always do when practicing. Everything is going to be fine.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think that our sound is very inspired by [have to name 'em again] Counterparts, even if it was never our goal to sound like them. Personally I'm inspired by so many great bands. I admire Converge's passion and the Lyrics from Have Heart, Defeater, Landscapes and other modern philosophers.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The weirdest thing with a fan wasn't a question. One evening after a show a fan came up to me and gave me some advices. Not on my vocals but on my stage presence. He told me that I wasn't hard enough on stage and said, that I have to be more harsh. It was ok for me to hear that but also funny in a weird way, you know? I mean, did you ever go to a band and told 'em, that they didn't look hard enough on stage?

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love all of them! It's an undescribable feeling to know that some people from all over the world are listening to our music. Songs, that we have written from the bottom of our hearts. About feelings we had, thoughts that came up to our minds and things that are important to us. We are a small band and most of our fans are also friends. But sometimes you meet some people who tell you, that you touched their life with your music. Sometimes you are on a concert and you see some people that you don't know wearing your band merchandise. You get support by people that love, what you do. And that means the world! I can't even find words for that.

14. What do you think of our site?

I discovered your site today and never visited it before. But it's in my bookmarks now. I appreciate what you're doing! Giving some small bands a platform to reach more people means the world to that bands! I want to thank you so much for that. Maybe we will do another interview when our next release is coming up. I promise to visit your site till then regularly.

15. Something to add?

Listen to our music. You can download our songs for free @ bandcamp. It means a lot to us! Breathing The Core, keep doing the right thing for bands like us! Thank you for everything. Hope we'll meet again!
