In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Pop Punk/Hardcore/Easycore band Set Up, Kid from Mexico, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name came out one day that I (Kurt) was thinking about a name for the band and I just couldn’t get any, so I decided that it would be a good idea to ask for names in the Revive Easycore Group, and in about an hour, I received a message from Lonnie Gross (from Fight to Remain) that only contained three words, “Set Up, Kid”.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We decided to play Easycore because in our local scene, there are mostly metalcore and post-hardcore bands, so we decided it would be a great idea to mix those core“ish” genres with a fun, posi, poppunk sound that makes people jump around and have fun at shows.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Actually I (Kurt) knew Beto and Alex from a long time ago, but I met Perry thanks to Beto, who invited him to play bass guitar with us.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Kurt: Blink-182, Four Year Strong, Neck Deep, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, Fall Out Boy.

Beto: Blink-182, A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, Underoath, Slipknot.

Alex: Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Parkway Drive, My Chemical Romance, All Time Low.

Perry: Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Mostly life events that have happened to me, relatives, friends, etc.

6. Where was your last gig?

At “Barro Negro” (a local Bar/Venue)

7. Where would you like to act?

At “Foro Alicia”

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would LOVE having Erick Allison joining with us for a song, because his band was one of the first Mexican pop-punk bands that we could listen, and he is a big influence for us in many ways.

9. Whom not?

Maybe grindcore or satanist death metal bands (with all respect to the people who play those generes).

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Actually, I get scared and all nervous every time I’m about to hop onstage, and what have really helped me is to jump/warm up, before the big moment so I get ready.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

DON, Blink-182, Parkway Drive, Modern Baseball.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We’ve never had a fan asking something, but once there was a friend who was listening to the first sketch of our demo, he got really confused with the genere and got really intense asking how it was possible to make pop-punk-core, also he mentioned the term “Disney-core” and that was pretty weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re awesome, even though we don't have much of a fanbase, people who support us are everything. Thanks to them we are who we are!

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it is a great opportunity for people looking for new music, and bands wanting to get bigger, to connect. So this page works like an awesome bridge between musicians and listeners, which is great because it becomes a win-win relationship.

15. Something to add?

Thank you a lot for this interview! We really enjoyed answering this questions!, and thanks for everyone who supports the band! And we want to send special thanks for our new social-media team who just joined a week ago! THANK YOU BREATHING THE CORE FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY. See you next time!
