Thy Assassin - Interview

In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Melodic Deathcore band Thy Assassin from New Zealand, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name was actually chosen by ex-members and was named after an old song, but we like the name and so we stuck with it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I suppose between all of our different favourite bands wether they are  deathmetal, deathcore, metalcore  or straight metal etc. We try incorporate different styles into one sound so listeners that like slightly different styles of metal can relate to it and enjoy it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes we were all good mates before forming (joining) in the band together, William our drummer actually mixed our e.p over a year before he even joined the band.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Kayne (Bass) Behemoth

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

What inspires me to write song is the end result of that- a mixed and mastered record and being able to play it live and all the great feedback that comes with it. Its rewarding in so many ways.

6. Where was your last gig?

Whakatane NZ with Saving Grace

7. Where would you like to act?  

Pretty much any UK or American metal festival would be a dream come true!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I don’t think all of our answers would quite the same for that but me personally would have to be Lamb Of God

9. Whom not?

This kind of thing doesn’t really bother us, we will play with any band no matter the genre. But if there was one band I would not like to play with that would be Atilla. I do not enjoy them.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

No so much stage fright but definitely have had some strong nerves before.   As long as you a prepared for the songs you are playing and have fun on the stage, move with the music then the crowed are sure to love you. It doesn’t take very long to get comfortable with yourself and others on stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

A lot of inspirations for writing our recent album A World Left Behind. would have to be bands like And Hell Followed With, Aegaeon, Whitechapel etc.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

A signed copy of our album. It was very humbling.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We love them, our fan base is not massive but the support and friendship we get is amazing!

14. What do you think of our site?  

I think its great, so easy to flick through and find new bands to listen to. It’s a great tool for bands and listeners.
