In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Nintendocore band Worth The Weight from Philippines, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name “Worth the Weight” first came into our minds during the outbreak of the rumors in our country that the Tuko, a specific species of gecko, has some medicinal powers, and people were hunting them because it was believed that they can be sold at a price that is 'worth their weight'. We kind of joined the bandwagon of hunters but instead of hunting them (which we totally oppose), we just wanted to find and visit them to have a closer look of these amazing creatures.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

The main reason is that we all love to play meaningful, loud and energetic music while being soft and beautiful in some spots.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Most of our members have known each other for years before we formed the band. Roy(vocals), Bjorn(drums), Jen(guitars), and Kryzel(vocals) are college friends and also came from a previous short-lived band called Hellokinky. Fey(guitars) was also a long time friend but she joined the band a little later because the band had a different guitarist before. JM(bass) is the newest member of the band. He joined only after he recruited Roy in his other band and became friends with Worth the Weight.

4. Each band member favourite band?

I (Roy) like The Word Alive and I'm currently addicted to bands My Ticket Home and Islander. As far as I know, Bjorn likes Slipknot, Jen loves Maximum the Hormone and also can't stop listening to Northlane, Fey really digs ChThoniC after hearing them live, Kryzel likes AliceNine from Japan, and JM is into Rap-metal/Nu Metal stuff.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The struggles in our daily life, the thoughts we would like to tell our friends and family, and of course our love for music

6. Where was your last gig?

Our home town Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines

7. Where would you like to act?

We would like to play major stages in our country, and maybe in another part of the world. That would be great!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

The Word Alive. We saw them last April live in our country! They surely put up an energetic show, aside from being cool people. OR any other band, as long as they're good people who are cool to hang out with.

9. Whom not?

Can't think of any.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us had been there, where we almost don't move while we play. To beat that, Roy's way as a vocalist is to just shout the hell out and run back and forth, left and right across the stage as long as the space permits. Haha

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Stick to Your Guns, The Word Alive and The Color Morale among others.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird so far.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Most of the people who support us are our true friends, ones we know personally. We truly value them.

14. What do you think of our site?

Keep up the good work Breathing the Core! It's really heart-warming to know people who devote time and effort in supporting underground bands.

15. Something to add?

We hope Breathing the Core readers check out our stuff in our Facebook page. We are currently writing an album that should be out few months into 2016, so don't miss out! 'Like' us if you like us. Many thanks to Breathing the Core! Cheers!
