Absence Of Despair - Interview
In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Metal/Metalcore band Absence Of Despair from USA, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We wanted a name that had more of a positive impact and meaning. So we came up with Absence of Despair. It does not mean “happy” like most people misinterpret it. By saying Absence of Despair it means more of absence of doubts and negative things in life.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Metal and music has always been a raw and true way of expressing ourselves to our full potential. Whether it is through anger, optimism or any emotion it is just a great and fun outlet for expression.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes and no. Billy and Tyler have been life long friends. Dillon went to school with them as well. Dillon knew Rob from previous musical endeavors, and Joe was referred to us through a close friend in our music scene when we were searching for a new vocalist.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Dillon: Led Zeppelin. Robert: Cryptopsy. Joe: Slipknot. Billy: Bullet For My Valentine. Tyler: Avenged Sevenfold. We listen to literally every genre, and it is very hard to pick just one favorite band. These are our current favorites right now.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We always strive to someday leave a legacy of music that can and will inspire somebody else to feel a certain way or to pick up an instrument and do the same.
6. Where was your last gig?
We are currently on our record release tour, “The Numbered & Nameless Tour”. Our last date was in Chesapeake, VA @ Riffhouse Pub.
7. Where would you like to act?
GLOBAL.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine.
9. Whom not?
N/A
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright?
Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? Not too bad. Best way to overcome that is to just keep playing live and imagine 1,000,000 people in the audience.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Pantera, Motley Crue, Avenged Sevenfold, and so much more.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
A meth head from this recent tour asked to come on the rest of the tour for $20/day.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are supportive and always come out to our shows and buy merch. Without them this lifestyle would be very dull and unrewarding.
14. What do you think of our site?
It is cool that you support smaller up and coming bands.
