If I Die Today - Interview

IF I DIE TODAY photo 1

In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore band If I Die Today from Italy, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

To be honest we had a previous name but it wasn't fitting for us. So we decided to change it in If Die Today, I don't remember how it happened, but it sounded good since the beginning. I like that.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We always loved the "core" in every declination, since we were kids. Never been attracted from pop artist or disco music. Plus, since when we were younger we were attracted by alternative sports and the "core" music is the main soundtrack.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Me and the other guys came from the same scene. We were in different bands, but there always been respect between us, from the first show and before.

4. Each band member favourite band?

I' will say that Converge is the right cup of tea for all of us. Someone is more influenced by black metal or death-core or mathcore. For sure we listen to tons of Post-Hardcore music and even sludge, or Stoner rock.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

So bad reality offers everyday inspiration. The songwriting is based on a free and democratic process: everyone of us contributes in creating textures and riffs without any kind of limitation. The black and suffocating atmosphere is the same from the beginning to the end of the record. Exactly like reality.

6. Where was your last gig?

We shared the stage with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Black Tusk.

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere there is a stage. Btw I'd like to have some shows in Thayland.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

As a bass player I would like to be close to Kurt Ballou on a stage.

9. Whom not?

Some epic metal singer or... James Blunt.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

It is very normal at the beginning of your career or when you face a greater stage, but my vision is that if you decide to play this kind of music, you have the right attitude to perform. So be proud and enjoy yourself. This is the key.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

All the 90's Hard-core bands.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We signed a driving license!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We live for them. No bullshits.

14. What do you think of our site?

It is very complete and always updated. I like the way you deep dive in to music genders and the opportunity you give to the bands to be more known. Keep going on!

15. Something to add?

Hope to see you all at the next live show in you town and don't forget to follow us on all the main socials (Twitter, FB, Instagram, Periscope) or via Sliptrick Records.
