In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Hardcore band Break The Chains from Germany, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our guitarist Matti had the idea for our band name while he was relaxing on vacation. We were at the point where we really wanted to start and we needed a Facebook page and some online appearance, so thoughts about a proper band name came up.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

First of all, we love Hardcore music, of course. The energy you can feel at Hardcore shows is incomparable and you just don’t find that when you look at other genres. Besides that, the message that Hardcore music spreads is a reason why we decided to play this kind of music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Partly, yeah. First of all, we were 3 guys who knew each other and needed a bass player. We found a guy, but he left the band last year due to personal issues. Now we’ve got a great dude to replace him, but we also didn’t know him before he joined.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Tom (Vocals): In Flames

Matti (Guitar): Nasty

Michi (Bass): Hypocrisy

Bene (Drums): Rage Against The Machine

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

A lot of things inspire us to write songs. Lyrically we focus on the things that go on worldwide, problems, social injustices but also personal stuff and things that happen directly around us.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Waging (Bavaria) at a band contest. It was part of a festival and the venue was amazing. It was in a circus tent and just next to the lakeside.

7. Where would you like to act?

Pretty much everywhere! Our aim is to play as many shows and as many places as possible. We’d like to play worldwide and meet cool people. Open air shows, basements, garages, wherever you can imagine. Shows are everything!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Promoters who live and breathe music.  People who really support the bands and help them out to find dates. With the ones who do their jobs because they decided to organize shows, no matter how much work it is. Those guys are gold!

9. Whom not?

Greedy people who are focused on success and money. No one needs those guys. You drive to the show, play your set and go with less than you came with. That’s just not the way it’s meant to be, there needs to be an equality between promoter and band.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yeah and some of us still do! But mostly it’s not such a big deal to get rid of it. Some of us have a beer and some cigs before, some work out a bit, we motivate each other, and usually you are fine after you played the first song.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The bands that inspired us musically are Terror, Hatebreed, Lionheart, Slayer, Expire, Nasty and Trapped Under Ice. Jamey Jasta inspired our vocal’s style pretty much.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

There have been some strange things, indeed! Once a guy wanted a baby from our guitarist, and another folk wanted us to include the German word “Müllwagen” in one of our songs, which means “garbage truck”. Of course we added it – straight before the mosh part.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are the best! Without those guys we wouldn’t be doing what we’re doing. They come to our shows, they buy our stuff and they support us in any possible way! Thank you all!

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is great! You support underground bands by posting their music and give them the opportunity to present themselves here! There is nothing more to add, it’s just great what you do!

15. Something to add?

Fuck Shit UP! We’re always searching for shows, so to everyone who organizes gigs and looks for a hardcore band: Listen to our stuff and book us!!  Support the scene, support DIY and keep it up!!
