Guilford Falls - Interview

In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Melodic Hardcore/Pop Punk band Guilford Falls from USA, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

We all tossed around a handful of names, some of them admittedly being jokes. Then came the name GuilfordFalls, which is the name of a Fvgazi song.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

At this point in my career I really don't have a preference when it comes to what genre I'm playing, but my roots are definitely in punk music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we all went to high school togeher. Zach, our bass player, was actually my very first friend at our high school.

4. Each band member favourite band?

The band that inspired me to get on stage was Green Day, so they'll always be my favorite.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Everyone knows great songs come from love and breaking up, etc. Some of my favorite songs are about other things in the world around me that are written in such a way that their meanings can only be left to interpretation. Songs like that inspire me. Specifically, Corey Taylor is one of my main lyrical influences.

6. Where was your last gig?  

We last played Halloween at the Hoosier Dome and had a freakin' blasty blast.

7. Where would you like to act?  

Anywhere that'll take us.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

I'd love to share a bill with a band called Wringer. Very old school Bad Religion-sounding punk.

9. Whom not?  

Nothing to answer here.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

I remember having pretty bad stage fright when I played my very first gig. For me, I've been able to shake that over the years by just letting myself go onstage regardless of whatever people think. People are gonna hate my performance, but I'm only worried about the people who love it. You just need to find the right things to focus on. Turn the nerves into energy and you'll have a great show.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Green Day for sure. Slipknot, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ray Charles, Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven't really gotten any weird requests yet, but we're all pretty weird dudes, so I'm sure we wouldn't even really think twice about a fan asking us for something like that. Even if it is an odd request, we'll do anything for the people who support us!

13. What do you think of your fans?  

Our fans continue to suprise me in the best ways possible. I'm always in disbelief when I see how supportive everyone is. We may not be a real punk band, but our fans definitely have the punk attitude.
