Hypewriter - Interview
In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Progressive Metalcore band Hypewriter from USA, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The concept idea originally was a sci-fi magazine, and each song was a story. It's obviously a play on words, but that was the idea behind it.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We honestly didn't have a set genre in mind going in, it was just a mesh of all of our styles and we just rolled with it. We like what we came up with.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Most of us knew each other. I (Damon) have known DJ forever, and when we were searching for a drummer he was my first choice.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Dj: The Contortionist
Cj: Veil of Maya
Kyle: Saosin
Damon: Chiodos
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
A lifelong love of music and a desire to do something about it.
6. Where was your last gig?
An American Legion in Indianapolis. There was a bar on the other side and they kept trying to shut the show down. We played anyway.
7. Where would you like to act?
Australia, Japan, Amsterdam, California, NYC
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Phil Druyor.
9. Whom not?
Riff Raff
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Close your eyes and go for it. Weed definitely helps too.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Damon: Coheed and Cambria, TDWP, The Ghost Inside
Dj: Lamb of God, The Contortionist, August Burns Red
Cj: Erra, Structures
Kyle: The Fall of Troy, CKY
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing really comes to mind. One time at a show a fan brought half of a pork chop and offered it to us. Haha
13. What do you think of your fans?
The only reason we get better and have opportunities to progress as a band.
14. What do you think of our site?
It's a cool way to stay informed and connected with other bands that are in the same position we are. Listening to new music is always a way to stay fresh as a musician.
15. Something to add?
We have big things ahead in 2016. Pay attention and don't forget to support your local scene. Peace!
