ARRAS - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

We tried to be metaphorical and cool and found that Arras was another word for tapestries. Traditionally a tapestry symbolized a certain destiny and is represented in a woven fabric hung on the wall. We felt like us coming together in this band was meant to be. Because we’re cool.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Because.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Chris Palmer and Roman kind of did.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Phil: Remain & Sustain

Nick: Misery Signals

Chris: ARRAS

Palmer: Ke$ha

Roman: Ariana Grande

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

The struggles of middle-class suburbia.

6. Where was your last gig?  

A basement show.

7. Where would you like to act?  

Everywhere.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Brendon Murphy from Counterparts  Jonathan Vigil from The Ghost Inside

9. Whom not?  

Our own vocalist.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We always get excited and nervous to play shows. The tip for beating that will consist on eating bananas. No seriously. Eat bananas.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Hundredth, Counterparts, Stick To Your Guns, Stray From The Path

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

We don’t have fans.
