In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Pop Punk band On The Open Road from UK, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

In the early months of 2013 we decided that we needed a band name so we started to think of ideas. Some of the ideas we came up with were ridiculous, they didn't suit our band at all! A few months on, our bassist Dan drew our intention to a lyric from The Downfall Of Us All by A Day To Remember; “I sold my soul to the open road”, and from that we made ‘On The Open Road'. After thinking about that name for a few weeks we decided to stick with it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We were all previously fans of pop punk but we also really liked some metal music as well. So therefore our first EP was a bit experimental as we were trying out different sounds and genres. With this new EP we have really stuck to one distinct genre and I think we have definitely found our sound. The reason we strove towards pop punk a bit more is that you can have a bit more fun with it and we love writing our take on pop punk; incorporating bigger instrumental sections, not just sing-a-longs or breakdowns.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all knew each other before the band; Tom and Ollie went to school together from an early age and Tom met Dan at secondary school. We only met Jack earlier this year though, hence why we were a three piece up to this point.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Tom: Right now it would have to be The Story So Far

Jack: Landmarks for sure

Dan & Ollie: Gojira

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Any kind of music listening or time passing tends to inspire Tom and Ollie to write songs. In terms of lyrics, Tom writes them about everyday life.

6. Where was your last gig?

The Eagle Inn, Salford as part of Oxjam Festival to raise money for Oxfam.

7. Where would you like to act?

Some venues we would like to play include Rock City (Nottingham), Sound Control (Manchester) and The O2 Ritz (Manchester). However, we are focusing on playing outside of our hometowns and expanding our fan base.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

In the sense of having an artist that we really like feature on a future release of ours, we would definitely like to have someone such as Parker Cannon, Jenna McDougall, Alan Day and/or Dan O’Connor.

9. Whom not?

Barney The Purple Dinosaur.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We haven’t ever really had a problem with stage fright, obviously we sometimes got nervous depending on what show it is, and we still do sometimes! Our best advice would be to do a 20 minute warm up before your set, regardless of whether or not you’re the singer in the band; we’re not just talking about vocal warm ups. Tom and Ollie always ensure they have 20 minutes before a show because thats what works for them. Another thing that helps is to not overthink the show and what you are about to do. Get on stage and enjoy it, thats why you’re doing it in the first place right?

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

A Day To Remember, Blink-182, Sum 41, Trash Boat, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, The Story So Far, Godsmack, Gojira, Neck Deep, Knuckle Puck, Four Year Strong, Seaway, Roam and many many more!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven’t really had any particularly weird experiences with fans as of yet, but the weirdest thing that we’ve experienced at a show was a guy who asked us to play hardcore music rather than our usual set. After the show he told us that he really didn’t like us but also really liked us, which makes no sense at all (we suspect he was under the influence of alcohol and other drugs).

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are of great importance to us because they are the other half to any band, we would be making music for just ourselves if we didn’t have fans and our live shows wouldn’t be as fun and lively.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s really cool, you’ve got a lot of easy to access music news, which is always a good thing! There’s new news all the time which really good to

15. Something to add?

Check out our EP ‘Storyteller’ on Friday 26th February 2016, we’re really happy with it and we think it’s a massive step up from our first EP. Also, keep an eye on our social media accounts for a new music video coming out in the new year, before the EP drops.
