Reign Eternal - Interview

Reign Eternal Promo 1

In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Reign Eternal from UK, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We wanted something which reminded people of more traditional metalcore bands, something which would draw people in. ‘Reign Eternal’ seemed to really fit that purpose. The idea came about when Sam our guitarist thought of a piece of art that he wanted to draw, the ghost of a king watching over his kingdom. Once he’d described that it was the first name that came into our heads!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Metalcore is just the genre which we all listen to, from more classic bands such as Killswitch Engage and As I lay Dying to more modern bands like Parkway Drive, August Burns Red and Bury Tomorrow. We all love the genre, the combination of screams and clean vocals is something Ellis has always wanted to do as a frontman and this band meant he could push himself to do that.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Most of us knew each other, Ryan and Jobe were good friends from when they used to go skateboarding. Sam is Jobe’s cousin. Ellis is a close friend of Jobe’s that he met at college and Kane is the new member, we had no idea what to expect when auditioning him. But he fit in straight away and kills it on bass.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Ryan: August Burns Red Sam: Parkway Drive Jobe: Northlane Kane: Emmure Ellis: Bury Tomorrow

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Bands with crazy live energy, we just love bands that just go nuts on stage. Everything for us is about the live performance, we love seeing the crowd react to a high energy song and that’s what we write for.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our hometown in Exeter, Devon UK at the Cavern with our good friends Pillars and Matt Stuart’s band The Dreamer Within. Definitely check them out!

7. Where would you like to act?

Download festival in the UK, that would literally be a dream come true. One our ambitions as a band is to be able to say that we’ve performed alongside some of the biggest and best metal + rock bands at what is in our opinion one of the best festivals in the world. We hope to appear on that lineup one day!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Definitely similar bands like Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive or August Burns Red. They’re all our main inspirations for our style.

9. Whom not?

One Direction.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Of course. Everyone suffers from some sort of nerves and everyone deals with it in their own way. I think the important thing to remember is that in a band you’re doing what you love doing with your friends by your side on the stage and that they’re not judging you. Go out and give it everything, have fun and the crowd will always enjoy your performance. Playing music is all about expression and just don’t worry yourself with the audience and what they think of you, go out and do what do best even if the worst were to happen you’re doing what you love and that’s what matters most. Remember that no one starts out as an amazing live act, everyone starts at the bottom we’ve all been there. Know that after a few shows your nerves will gradually disappear and you’ll become a confident and great live performer it just takes practice and lots of dedication like anything else in life. That would be my advice, also to remember that anyone can do it!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Parkway Drive certainly inspired me personally the most. Just because of the way they’re all best friends and have achieved something they never thought was possible, they’re not making themselves out to be anything they’re just normal guys. That just made me realise that all of this is possible, no matter what people say to try and convince you otherwise.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Haha, Jobe has been mistaken for one of the members of Rizzle Kicks before by a fan. The weirdest thing though has to be a girl who asked for our picks and a lock of Kane’s pink fringe to make into a necklace!

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re absolutely amazing, our fans make such an effort to support RE. We couldn’t be more grateful! Whether it’s coming from miles away to come to shows when they all have work in the morning, or buying our merch and listening to our music. They all get involved and we can’t express how lucky we are.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s sick, so great to see so much support for all genres of Metal and new underground bands. This is exactly what is needed to keep Metal and other genres growing and reaching bigger audiences.

Keep featuring new artists!
