This Life - Interview

In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Hardcore Punk band This Life from France, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Mika: There was several ideas for the band name, we finally choose "This Life" as it is very simple and general, in agreement with the lyrics dealing with life topics.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Mika: We all really enjoy punk-rock and hxc music. I was already playing in a modern hxc band called "Not My Hero" when I joined the project. First songs of This Life was a bit more punk-rock, like Rise Against, but the next ones become naturally harder, with more modern hxc touch. If you listen to our first album, you can feel the 2 different styles, punk-rock & hxc. For our new EP, the songs are more dark and louder...

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Mika: Some of us already played together in other bands, Bastien and Rooliano who joined the band when we changed the line-up last year, was already well-known too!

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Mika: Queen

Bastien: Pennywise

Rooliano: Sublime

Mamath: Defeater

Xavier: Cancer Bats

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Mika: As I said before, life is a great source of inspiration. Our songs deal with modern topics like media, disease, ecology, but also with eternal things like death or respect...for your information, all of our lyrics are available on our bandcamp.

6. Where was your last gig?

Mika: We were on tour for 10 gigs around France and Switzerland.

7. Where would you like to act?  

Bastien: Wherever we can :)...but for sure, it would be a great pleasure to play within big festival like Groezrock, Hellfest...

Mika: We already play at Xtreme Fest in 2013, the biggest punk, hxc, metal festival in the South of France.

9. Whom not?  

Politicians.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Mika: For sure, first stage ever was a bit difficult for each one of us. But today, it seems hopefully ok.

Bastien: A tip for beginners ? Drink but don't be drunk...

Mika: You just have to believe in yourself and realize how lucky you are to be on stage!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Mika: First, Comeback Kid. Then, bands such like Defeater, Verse, Have Heart...but we really listen to different kind of rock music (from folk to metal) so we can be sometimes inspired by others bands for some details within a song.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

Bastien: A girl asked me out to kiss her...she's my girlfriend for 6 years now.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

Mika: We really love them and appreciate to meet new ones, as we mainly play music to meet people and share good times!

14. What do you think of our site?  

We admit that we did not know you before this interview, but it looks very cool and you made a lot of interviews since 2014 !!
