In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Post-Hardcore band Vox Vocis from USA, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Zachary: Its kind of one of those “I heard from a friend who knew a guy that heard…” kinda thing; I had a friend who was in theatre in high school, and they had seen a show called Vox about sound in society, and myself and a former band member named Tim used that to write the original story that is behind the name, adding Vocis to the end. The two words together mean roughly ‘Voice of Voices,’ and we felt that embodied the theme of the band.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Alex: I just fell into it after all the things I listened to.

Zachary: The bands that I grew up on, and inspired me to play, were in this genre, so it only made sense for me to do it too. It wasn’t really a choice, more of just a thing that happened.

Alejandro: Mostly due to a lot of the bands I started listening to in high school. Lost of Rush and lots of Coheed.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Alex: I’ve known Alejandro since high school.

Zachary: I met Alejandro in college; in a way he brought the three of us together. I convinced him to join when we had a show together, and he convinced Alex to move down here and play too.

Alejandro: Zach and I met when we were paired up to do a radio show in college around 3 years ago, but I’ve known Alex since high school when we were introduced by a mutual friend.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Alex: That’s hard. I’ve been really into Quiet Company lately

Zachary: The Dear Hunter. All time favorites.

Alejandro: Rush, probably hands down.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Alex: I just want to write stuff I’ll have fun playing.

Zachary: I know that as a drummer I really enjoy the writing of Joseph Arrington, Andrew Forsman, and Josh Eppard, but the parts I come up with are much more inspired by the individual ideas in the music I’m playing. I try to accent what I think is important to the different people I play with.

6. Where was your last gig?

Alex: Scout Bar. The world fell apart around us.

Alejandro: Our last show at Scout Bar in Houston was almost comical in that our set literally started falling apart. Zach had to deal with a broken drum head and our gear kept messing up between songs, but it was fun regardless.

7. Where would you like to act?

Alex: I like places with mountains in the background. Texas is really flat.

Zachary: The East Coast, or Europe. We’ve wanted to go to the East Coast since we started touring but found it much more intimidating to really get in to, and Europe is just a personal goal. I’ve been a couple times with my family and loved it.

Alejandro: Northeast or Northwest. I’m with Alex on mountain touring, love the scenery. Chicago would be amazing as well.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Alex: I can dig Zach’s tour.

Zachary: The dream tour for me is The Dear Hunter, Coheed and Cambria, and the Mars Volta, but that’s the definition of a pipe dream.

Alejandro: Coheed would be a huge dream.

9. Whom not?

Alex: Any bill we shouldn’t be on, any bill we don’t fit on.

Zachary: I had to cover an event when I wrote for my college paper where thrash band High On Fire played. That was terrifying. I would not want to tour with that, just out of a fear for my life.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Alex: I’ve only had stage fright when I played solo, I dealt with it by being in a band, so I’m not the only focus.

Zachary: I get pretty nervous anytime we play in a new setting or it’s a big show, so my answer is to practice whatever you’re performing so much that when you start playing, muscle memory takes over.

Alejandro: Yeah, practice to the point of muscle memory. I think I deal with stage fright by moving around so much on stage that I don’t have time to really stay still and take in the fact that all these people are concentrating on us.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Alex: Probably Coheed; you can hear a lot of Coheed in the album.

Zachary: I’d have to answer The Dear Hunter here again; part of the reason that they’re my favorite is because of the way they carry themselves; Beyond the music, they’re very friendly at shows, their stage presence is hilarious. Going to their shows is always an experience, and I really like the way they present their merchandise. It’s like you’re buying into an idea, not just the music.

Alejandro: Definitely Rush and Coheed. Geddy’s playing got me into bass and Coheed’s bass parts are a huge part of how I think of bass grooves.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Alex: I honestly get kind of awkward when anybody wants a picture.

Zachary: We have a really enthusiastic fan out in Los Angeles who made us feel like we were at home on our first trip there. He had asked us for our shirt sizes a few months before tour, and when we arrived in his city, he had prepared all these little gift baskets for us, with shirts and things pertinent to us. He got me a notebook, and I think Alejandro a couple posters. It was so endearing; Los Angeles will always be my favorite stop on that tour because of him

13. What do you think of your fans?

Alex: They’re chill.

Zachary: I think they’re all really trusting people! We didn’t really put out a ton of music our first couple years, and had a kickstarter to fund our album, so all the faith from a ton of live performances and an ep has been really awesome.

Alejandro: I think anyone that likes us enough to call themselves a fan is automatically my friend. The support we get from family, friends, and random people really means a lot.

14. What do you think of our site?

Zachary: I think we are excited to be on it! This is our first interview with someone besides a close friend or family, and its a really honorable feeling that someone would want to know about the music. Looking through the site, we really like the work y'all do, and we're excited to be a part of it.
