Interviews: Amenaza De Muerte

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It was more spontaneous than planned. At first, we called ourselves Death Threat, but there was a band with this name, so we changed it to Amenaza de Muerte, the Spanish translation. It fits well with our music style and it’s easy to remember for Spanish people, it’s a menace itself!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Each member of the band likes Extreme Metal and/or Hardcore, and all their subgenres. The new and the old school live together in this music style: quick and dark melodies with slow and heavy breakdowns. Variety. Listeners can’t get bored.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes and no. Let’s explain that. The band was formed in Malpica de Bergantiños (A Coruña, Spain), for a group of friends who like playing Metal and Hardcore, so at the beginnings we know each other.

But with time, the project became more professional and new people came, until the prevailing line up: Adam Blanco (drummer), Héitor Amenaza (guitar player), Santi Ritter (bass player) and San Nogueira (vocals).

4. Each band member favourite band?

Adam: Thy Art Is Murder

Héitor: The Black Dahlia Murder

Santi: Lamb Of God

San: I Declare War

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Every music style that makes you feel angry, and our own life experiences. With our creations we try to escape from the terror and bad things of this world. You yourself can throw away all the stresses of life with a good scream or growl!

6. Where was your last gig?

At Metalpoint Venue (Porto, Portugal).

7. Where would you like to act?

At Wacken Open Air.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Suicide Silence

9. Whom not?

Justin Bieber

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes. Our singer has problems for eating several hours before the show. He had vomited while singing once, and he swallowed everything up again to continue singing… so nasty.

A good tip is to be with the band some minutes before the show to talk, concentrate and warm up a little. If you had worked hard at home and rehearsed seriously with your partners, you don’t have anything to be afraid of.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Thy Art Is Murder, Carnifex, The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, Postmortem Promises, Bleed From Within.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A girl has asked us to write the band name on her tits (there is a picture of “them” on our Facebook page).

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re great and very loyal people. They listen to our music, attend to our shows, buy our merchandising, support in the social media… Thanks to them we grow as band. Without them we couldn’t continue.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s a good place to promote and help bands. It is very interesting to have everything about “core” bands centralized and organized. You are doing a good job.
