In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Melodic Hardcore/Pop Punk band Generally Speaking from USA, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our vocalist, Lily, was just kind of going through different idioms and phrases that we sometimes use in day to day life and "Generally Speaking" just kinda came out. This was back in the days when we had a totally different line up and we were going for a totally different sound.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We all come from different backgrounds musically and when we got together and started writing, we wanted to be smart about how it came together. We didn't want to copy and paste what had already been done by lots of other bands. So doing this blend of emo revival, hardcore, and post hardcore seemed the right path to go down for us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

One way or another... yes. Lily and Logan were friends, Tommy and Lily were friends, Donald and Logan were friends, and Tommy and Logan actually marched together for a couple years in the high school regiment (marching band).

4. Each band member favourite band?

Lily has been listening to ONLY, and we mean ONLY, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Donald is in love with Underoath, Tommy really likes Boilermaker, and Logan's favorite band is Have Heart.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

A lot of our lyrics are fueled by stress or self-depreciation that we feel. Writing lyrics helps us vocalize these things and just help us cope. And every once in a while if we see something that bugs us, whether its attitudes in the music scene or world problems, we might write about that.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was out in Fullerton Ca, at Programme Skate and Sound with our good friends in Life Moves On!

7. Where would you like to act?

We're probably about an hour outside of LA, so we'd definitely love to get out to some Los Angeles venues and also the San Diego area as well.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We all agree that we'd love to play with Counterparts, La Bella, and Fetty Wap. Definitely Fetty Wap.

9. Whom not?

Lets just say...some bands who weren't very professional when we played their show.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Maybe when we first started playing, but not really anymore. In our opinion, the easiest way to overcome stage fright is to just practice to the point where everything is muscle memory, and then just relax and zone out a little (not too much) and know that you got this! No one knows your music better than you!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There isn't really a band that we've been inspired by as a whole, but we all kinda were inspired individually by our own bands that we like. Bands like Citizen, Fugazi, Have Heart, Balance & Composure, Stick To Your Guns, Indian Summer, Rites of Spring, Underoath, Paramore, and Trapped Under Ice.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We've never been asked anything really weird by a fan, but there was one time we played a show at our high school and after we were done and tearing down, Donald got ask to take pictures with fans...but only Donald. It was just random and funny that it was ONLY Donald while the rest of us were standing, like... right next to him. Not to mention that out of the four of us he's also the only one who didn't go to our high school so that just made it even funnier. But I mean, who wouldn't want a picture with Donald? He's the Don!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fan base is still growing, a majority of them are in the Southern California region but we do have some on the east coast. Either way we love them all. It means the world that people listen to our music and can identify with it. Its every musicians dream honestly.

14. What do you think of our site?

Its honestly really cool! So many different bands all on one site. There need to be more websites that support music like you guys do.

15. Something to add?

We released our first album a little over two weeks ago via Outlast Records. You can pick it up for free on our Bandcamp! We'd really appreciate it if people gave it a listen and shared it around! Thanks!
